Figures that nearly every major NBA trade before this one has had player assets leaked out beforehand, but this one is as tight lipped as a boyfriend coming back from a bachelor party in Vegas.

Only real ones up at 5am finding about Kawhi coming here even though he hates Toronto

Doesn't Leonard also have injury issues? I like the upgrade but one year of a guy who has more than one reason to not play at 100% is just asking for trouble, no?

Also feel really bad for DeMar. His IG now deleted.

Damn... who's our shooting guard though? I'm not sure how I feel about this. 1 year of Leonard unless some miracle. Hope he's motivated. Ballllllsssyyy from Massai. I'm honestly not going to hate on it. He probably viewed the situation that Derozan was never going to be good enough to lead a team... He probably was being realistic in his stance that Lowry, Ibaka are free agents in 2 years; and the whole thing could blow at the time anyways; so we may as well go for 1 eastern conference title. I can't hate on it. But after he leaves; Lowry should leave; and there will be pain at that time. When that time comes we can rebuild; but I'll enjoy 1 season of KL. Hope he gives us his all

Also we are in a bit of a weird situation. Philly and Boston are going to be very, very good, very soon. We were never going to have long sustained success for much longer with the way this team was constructed. This gives us an excuse to get away from Derozan a couple of years earlier. Life is about timing; and even if it doesn't work; we may be able to rebuild sooner.

I actually really applaud this move. Most organizations would want to KEEP Derozan, and be good/average for longer and prolong profits. This is basically an "all in" + acceleration to the re-build scenario in 2019; but at least we get one season of KL before Boston, Philly dominate. LOVE IT!

The Lakers Are Playing The Spurs And Kawhi Leonard Beautifully
The Lakers find themselves essentially bidding with teams reluctant to put a best offer forward and a Raptors team that is betting on themselves to win the conference with the addition of a rejuvenated Leonard.

However, that scenario hardly means Leonard will enter Toronto, fall in love with its team culture and decide to stay for the long haul over becoming a free agent next summer.

The Lakers are pushing in this year’s chips on LeBron and a young squad to win now, betting that success this year will entice a player that, until recently, has purportedly desired to play for the purple and gold.

Clippers rumors aside, the Lakers are playing chess this summer with the Spurs and Kawhi Leonard.

Yes, they may indeed miss out on the all-star come next offseason much as they did with Paul George. But the only thing you can do at this juncture is take calculated risks, and giving up on Leonard now is remarkably simple math.

Obviously depends on what else goes on top of DD but I can understand it. Hope he re-signs, but will probably end up leaving in the end.

Oh well. Giving it one good run at it is probably a good thing. Raptors needed to shake it up somehow and I would say this shakes it up pretty well, even though he's likely just going to end up playing the same position as DeRozan. He really should be happy. The Raptors are one of the few teams where he can be the super star but still have the supporting cast to be really good. The Clippers suck, and he's going to be third fiddle to Lebron and the Ball's for the Lakers (even though the latter is purely based on theatrics than skill). Maybe he really just wants to play at home, and does not have that sort of ego, but the Raptors are not exactly a terrible place for him to be.

I feel offended when I hear that a player doesn't wanna be here. We have one of the best cities in North America. Is it the franchise that's turning them off? Or is Kawhi another ignorant American that thinks we live in igloos up here despite being not even 2 hours away from the States?

I already don't like the guy.

He's gonna be more hated than Vince although the blame should go to Masai.

Trading for a guy that doesn't want to be here is asinine.

Toronto then flips Khawi Leonard + Kyle Lowry to the Lakers for Kuzma, Ingram, Deng, Frye, 1st round pick

L.A Lakers starting 5: Lowry, Lebron, Leonard, Randle, Lopez

T.O Raptors starting 5: Fred, Anubuoy, Ingram, Kuzma, Val

:naughty:
