There's also a Devils fan on Twitter saying he was asking her to send him nudes when she was 17 and he was within the organization. Guy obviously has mega issues.

The culture of this sport, whatever shortcomings it has, is not to sexually abuse underaged girls.

Let's not overlook the aspect of hazing (sexual) in this sport. It's been occuring since forever.
A lot of sick, sick shit goes on behind lockeroom doors. This is well known.

In the CHL we're talking kids theoretically as young as 15. Veterans as old as 20. Adult coaches who look the other way.

Of course this and Boucher's incident are exceedinly different, but they're not worlds apart either. They're both acts of power and control via sexual abuse of minors.

People like Boucher will always exist. It is disgusting and vile but that's life for you.
What pisses me off is the non-reaction by the hockey organizations if they knew. And what completely baffles me is the plea bargain. How does he get no jail time, no record, barely a slap on a wrist? Is it because he's white rich guy with money? Does the prosecutor think sex crime is just no big deal? Do they think the girl would make a bad witness due to her trauma-related issues or what the hell went through their heads with this?? I get that he was underage himself, but at 17 and with this type of crime, it seems like simply an excuse.
And people wonder why rape victims are reluctant to come forward. Unbelievable.

USA Hockey had him on the U18 roster weeks after they knew about this?

You're telling me LOU didn't look into why he needed to change billet homes? Right..
I'm sure Lou probably knew more than he is letting on, but I very much doubt that Lou (or anyone in the senior leadership of the Devils at the time) would know anything about their prospects' billeting status.

I would also assume billeting arrangements are changed all the time for a variety of reasons, so if Lou did for some reason find out I doubt he'd think it's anything weird.

If Lou knew any part of this he'd get rid of this kid. He'd also call the cops to let them know.

Lou is a straight shooter. This is now New Jersey trying to cover shit up.

Ask guys like Bobby Holik or Ken Daneyko.

Lou is a straight shooter. He'd be the first one to not cover for Reid Boucher.

If there was no complaints, why was he “preemptively moved to another billet home”?

Seems like they knew something. Maybe not the whole story but I bet they knew something

I mean he was a minor also but dude is a creep. A 12 year old? force yourself on her? Dude you are a scumbag and should spend some time behind bars to think over your life choices.

I'm confused why the US Hockey and Devils organization are being thrown under the bus.

In one of the articles I read that the victim took until now to bring this to light. So there was no accusation at the time, you'd have to assume. He was removed from the billet home, that's it.
Exactly. Nowadays people just want to blame everyone and everything in these cases. Reid Boucher is the only one who should get all the blame.

Unfortunately this won't affect on his life that much if i'd have to guess. He's living in Russia and can probably stay there for good and get a good salary playing hockey and later citizenship.

A comprehensive third party review of USA Hockey's handling of the incident is required here. If they had any inkling about this and chose to bury it, heads should roll.

Victim told what happened to a friend, whose parent then informed USA Hockey, after which Boucher was moved to another billet family

You sure about that? Lou gave Ben Johnson an ELC after he was charged with sexual assault and let him play in the organization up until he was convicted to spend 3 years in prison.

He seems fine with enabling rapists

Are you familiar with rapist Brock Turner? Received 6 months because he was a swimmer in college and the judge felt sorry for him.
