Sickening as it may be, he won't even have to serve time.
It’s not a big story because there’s nothing or no one actually saying they knew about it and covered it up. Just speculation and a bunch of random people talking about it on here like they know that they did. Where is this coming from? Not trying to downplay what the victim went through by any means, but it seems to me that the cover-up by USA Hockey is the bigger story here.
Wonder if other survivors will come forward now.
Thank you. I misread that. Devil’s drafting around that time scored poorly on character ratings it seems. Yikes. This is referring to another prospect the Devil's drafted around tye same time, Ben Johnson, who also raped someone (or rather, two people) not Reid Boucher
He'll probably be on the sex offender registry, no? That's a pretty big deal.
However, during the December hearing, Circuit Judge Patrick Conlin agreed to let Boucher enter a plea for the lesser charge and agreed to sentence him with no upfront jail time through the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act, or HYTA. Under HYTA, the case won’t appear on Boucher’s public record if he successfully completes his sentence.
Blackmailing someone for sexual favours still seems to be a trivial offence. At age 17, you should know that's not OK.
Based on the Detroit Free Press story from yesterday, he won't be because of that HYTA program

Do you realize how common that is in junior hockey? Literally happens all the time.Moved him to another billet family?
Yeah, the catholic church moved pedophiles around so they could enable child rapists.
Well done US Hockey.
And by well done, I mean eff you. Gosh, there isn't anymore room for nails in the coffin of hockey's culture problem.

I meant the billet families part. Kids get moved from billet houses all of the time for a ton of different reasons. Some times it’s the smallest issues some times it’s the billet or the player asking for it or sometimes it’s just situational thing. You mean moving billet families, and not blackmailing kids, right? Because if it’s the former, yes. I knew billet families who would take players, then move them somewhere else because of life things (vacations, work etc.), or they were just temporary ones (basically take people after trades, or during training camps until a permanent billet is found). If it’s the latter, I’m fairly sure it’s not.
Since the original tweet from 2019 has been deleted, here is the account.
Dude gets off SCOTT FREE.
He blackmailed a 12 year old for sexual favors as a 17 year old. Even if he was young, it's hard to imagine him being much different now if he's never once tried to reconcile with the victim. What a shame.
Not to mention US hockey just sweeping it under the rug like it's no big deal.
This past December, however, Boucher pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving sexual penetration with an individual between the ages of 13 and 16 years old.
The victim in this case, who was 12 years old at the time, says Boucher, who was 17 at the time, forced her into oral sex multiple times.
I just dont understand how this is something you would want. Like if you're 17 and you want that kind of stuff... does it not make you feel bad when you get it from a. 12 year old? I know when I was that age I wasn't looking to get stuff like that from girls 5 years younger than me who aren't even teenagers yet.
The culture of this sport, whatever shortcomings it has, is not to sexually abuse underaged girls. The culture of this sport is so f***ing gross.
