Let's hope he plays top 4 in the WC after this run. I am assuming the Slovakian team will be very similar to the Olympic roster, right? And they barely played him at the Olympics.
Montreal needs him and BedardWhoever needs the best right shooting d-man available in the draft should take this guy without hesitation ! I suspect he's going to be really good sooner than later !!

Unfortunately, the Habs likely won't take him if they pick #1 !Montreal needs him and Bedard
I think he should go to ahl to get used to NA style of hockey for 1 year and go to NHL next yearIncredible playoff run for an 18-year old. Really curious where he plays next year. I don’t think there is much more to gain from staying in Slovakia.
I think Nemec being almost ppg player in playoff makes him easy N1 def this yearI keep flip flopping between him and Jiricek as to who the better D man will be.
I want my Devils to take one of them ( if either are still there) .
In the very very rare circumstance they are both there, which if the two would you choose ?
I’d rather have the more defensively sound guy but??
What are his strengths in his game ? Weaknesses ? What’s his floor and ceiling based off his talent ? Any comparisons you guys can think of ?
Thanks in advance for anyone answering . Sorry , I just haven’t watched enough of him to make my own take on him .
But the Slovakian league is much weaker than the Czech league, so Jiricek wasn't going to do that regardless even if he was better.I think Nemec being almost ppg player in playoff makes him easy N1 def this year
They should.Unfortunately, the Habs likely won't take him if they pick #1 !
Still, Nemec was ppg in the series against Zvolen and mainly Slovan, which is probably comparable level to an average czech league gameBut the Slovakian league is much weaker than the Czech league, so Jiricek wasn't going to do that regardless even if he was better.
you make it sound like czech league is same level as KHL. czech league is better than slovakian league but not that big difference. But the Slovakian league is much weaker than the Czech league, so Jiricek wasn't going to do that regardless even if he was better.
You watch both leagues regularly enough to compare the quality? But the Slovakian league is much weaker than the Czech league, so Jiricek wasn't going to do that regardless even if he was better.
Slovakian league is weaker tho the difference isn't as big as you think and strongest teams like Slovan or Nitra would do pretty well in Czech leagueBut the Slovakian league is much weaker than the Czech league, so Jiricek wasn't going to do that regardless even if he was better.
He undoubtedly played his best game in the national team yesterday. Here are some of his highlights:
That pinch at 1min16s was rewarded but IMO it was a dumb play (the other team had possession), 3 on 1 going the other way if he misses to intercept that pass.
And I'm not a fan of those weak shots from the point (0m35s), nothing there.
if you play the 1min16s situation again, how could this turn out into 3v1? There are literally 3 other slovak players. I think Nemec knew that and evaluated the situation right, took a risk and it almost paid off. Far from dumbThat pinch at 1min16s was rewarded but IMO it was a dumb play (the other team had possession), 3 on 1 going the other way if he misses to intercept that pass.

I like him for his mobility and his IQ, the floor is a 2nd pair D which is great. Can't miss pick.
I would however gamble more with the upside of Jiricek if I had to pick the first D of that draft. He has more physicality, a better shot and is still quite mobile, even if less gracious with his stride. I see a Seider kind of upside with Jiricek... More a Leddy kind of player in Nemec? Maybe he'll turn out to be a Karlsson and the Jiricek pick will turn out to be the wrong one.
Both of these players will play in the NHL.
I agree, the mutual matches are clear in the Champions League, as well as in the preparatory matches, when often the Czech teams from the second highest league beat the teams from the Slovak extra league. But the Slovakian league is much weaker than the Czech league, so Jiricek wasn't going to do that regardless even if he was better.
