It's low effort bait....Krupp's best season is basically Seider's floor. Krupp was D+4 before he sniffed NHL ice, and not a single season prior to that was even comparable to what Seider has done this year.

This just opens a whole new bag of worms for me..
Why's that? A solid track record is as good as you're gonna get for evaluating something as unpredictable as drafting. Of course there are many other factors going into it: the quality of your amateur scouts, the development of the player, your draft position, etc... but as far as gauging the quality of the picks made under the helm of a GM, Yzerman is near the top. Frankly I don't think that's very debatable right now.

For the record, I'm a Habs fan. No bias here. I'm just quite confident Yzerman has hit on this Seider pick the way he has hit on many others in his career. Of course, there's still lots of room for things to change - as is the nature of prospect development - but I like the pick as things stand.

Lol just messing with ya my friend, you said the phrase wrong, so I said a phrase wrong.

You said benefit out of doubt, when its supposed to be benefit of the doubt.

So I said bag of worms when its supposed to be can of worms

I'll see myself out...:help:

Not a bad list. The only one that isn't an NHLer (or future NHLer) is Axel Holmstrom.

From the Wings board:
So I've watched SHL for about 30 years and I don't think I've ever seen a more complete defender. He really has it all..
I was so high on Dahlin (even though he was on the wrong SHL team) and I saw both Klefbom and Brodin in Färjestad grow from j16 and up... I've seen Hedman in Modo and Karlsson in Frölunda but.. In SHL and especially at that age, noone has come close to the skill that Seider have.

From the Wings board:

To be fair Brodin, Hedman, and Karlsson did not play in the SHL at the same age that Seider is now. Klefbom played 11 games in D2. Dahlin didn't either. None of them had the benefit of playing in AHL previously.

I wouldn't expect anything less than Seider to be better than a younger version of these players.

I mean big expectations are fine but yeah, players who mature quickly are not necessarily the best in their at their peak. Brodin is a great example really. He jumped straight into the NHL at the age of 19 but stayed at almost the same level throughout the years. Seider is obviously a better prospect, no doubt about it, but it's really not a given he has so much potential left untapped.

Seider’s game is very polished at a young age but that doesn’t mean he’ll be Hedman by any means. You guys are really setting yourselves up for disappointment by constantly talking about him as if there’s no way he isn’t at least a top pairing guys. I’m excited for him too but let’s cool it a bit.
Isn't it weird it's okay for the entire hockey world to talk about him in that way but Wings fans should "cool it"?

Agree with you for sure, let's not get too ahead of ourselves. But, you do have to realize that many of these comments praising Seider are people in Sweden that aren't Wings fans. I don't watch the SHL (although it has been fun to follow this year) , but I trust those who do watch it closely. The praise for Seider isn't only Wings fans, it is coming from extremely knowledgeable hockey people in Sweden.

At least quote me so I can help you with my post.

I said it's not surprising that D2 SHL Seider looks as good or better than D year SHL Hedman, especially because Seider has already played in the AHL.
20 year olds should look better than 17-18 year olds.

If you read that to mean that Seider is Hedman then you need to take your time reading others' posts.

He wasnt 20, he was 19.

Dahlin too, the transition isn't that easy. Ristolainen was also considered a can't miss Elite D as a prospect. Saying Hedman level is saying too much.
