Dude is a f***ing wrecking ball at the SHL level. He's going to be physically dominant in the NHL too, once he bulks up. He's only 19, and at 6'4" 207 lbs he could easily add another ~20 lbs while retaining his speed/mobility, he's got a real big frame.

I continue to see Shea Weber minus the slapper when I watch Seider.
He's a better skater then weber ever was.

When is he expected to come back over ? Any chance he plays a few games at the end of the season or will he most likely just start fresh the following year?

There's a chance he plays some games but Rögle is the best team in the SHL so if they have a deep playoff run it could mean zero NHL games this year for Seider. Assuming, ya know, the Wings don't make a playoff run lol.

Thanks, when would his season in theory end?

Sometime in March, then add playoffs that could run into May probably if Rögle goes all the way. This is if there are no covid-related delays that extend the season.
So an early playoff exit för Rögle is what we need to hope for to see Seider for 5-10 games in NHL.

This kid should be in the NHL leading that wings defense. You get better more in the NHL eating all kinds of minutes on that weak D.

I hope he is nowhere near our blue line this year unless we are semi respectable come end of the season and he is not thrown into the fire. Its a short season, global pandemic, his development has looked great where he is. Give him a full proper offseason of training with Wings staff and let him break in on what should be an improved squad.

Since my team is not Rögle, I wish he could go over asap, one less problem to deal with ;)
But for the Wings and Seider himself, I think it is much better for him to play in Rögle this year. Playing in a top team will give him more confidence, try new things and grow his game. Playing in Detroit this year would just end up trying to stay aflot and make as few misstake as possible and not develop.

I think that we have seen the team isn't nearly as bad as last year. One area that they stand to improve the most is having additional defensemen who can play with poise and transition the puck out of the zone...both of which Seider has done well at in the AHL and SHL. The physicality would be an added bonus. I am not afraid of him coming in for a test run if there is enough time at the end of the year.

We don't need him to win games this year, that's not the motive, but we will need him in future years. And if he can get a taste for what he's up against, I think there's a lot of value to be had there before he enters a big offseason of training and development.

Doubt he will be able to just manhandle guys like this in the NHL, but nice to see he isn't afraid to be physical.

Oh, he probaby will. Dude is 19 and throwing around grown ass men in the SHL. At 18 he was throwing around bigger grown ass men in the AHL. He can still put on another 10-15lbs of muscle without losing any mobility.

Pretty sure he concussed both Jacob Josefson and Manuel Ågren yesterday. He clashed with Josefson on the blueline and possibly Ågren on the last hit in the twitter post above

We won 4/5 to start the season 3 years ago, had a stretch of winning 9/11 toward the beginning of the year 2 years ago, and won 3/4 to start last year. Don't get ahead of yourself.

Sweden is a great place for him to be right now

Ideally he Rogle's season would end at a timing that would allow Seider to play 7 games and burn the 1st year of his ELC while getting a taste of the NHL. Give him a big offseason training and he could hit the ground running for the start of the 2022 season. All of that said, a deep playoff with Rogle would be good experience for the Kid as well.

So much potential, but he's still a bit of a baby deer on skates. I think he needs a bit more time to coordinate those limbs of his.

If he doesn't win the Salming award for best SHL defenseman this season then I'm going to scream BS. The guy has been the best all around defender in the SHL this year.

#13 in defense scoring, 9th in PPG while playing 6 fewer games than most others. 1st in Fenwick amongst players with 20 or more games. 2nd in Corsi amongst players with 20 or more games. 5th in defense +/-

This would fall under the category of incorrect.

Hes very fluid, great stride without even factoring in his size. Skating would be one of his key weapons. Not to say there isnt work to be done, last year in the AHL you could tell he needed to work on his footwork. He looks pretty improved this year and I would have zero concerns about him being very mobile even by NHL standards.
