Depends on what happens with the SHL schedule, and how Rögle does in the playoffs.
Do you have an earliest and a latest date? Really looking forward to seeing him in the National League. I think he’s going to make a
Huge impact right away.

So I can’t figure out why, but there is 1 SHL game scheduled for April 1st on a source I saw, but the rest of the league appears to end in early-mid March. I’d say the earliest you would see Seider is April, or he might go deep enough into the playoffs that there really aren’t any NHL games left, so he would be a 2021-22 arrival.

If the Wings are wanting another top 10 pick in 2021 they are far more likely to get that without Seider than with him. This kid is a serious difference maker.

I love basically everything about his game. Big, great hitter, excellent defensively, great skater for his size, handles and protects the puck very well for a big guy, and makes smart plays all over the ice. He reminds me a lot of young Shea Weber, though obviously he lacks the clapper. If he can develop a plus shot ... man he’s gonna be a force. Even with a “meh” shot he could be a legit 1D IMO.

Average wristshot, below average or well below average slapshot. That's how I'd put it. Overall you're looking at a guy that doesn't shoot enough and when he shoots it's not going to intimidate anyone.

Holy crap, i love Seider as a player but the takes and the Red Wings fans in this thread make me dislike him.

Nah if you dont agree that he is the lovechild of Pronger and Lidstrom, youre a hater

So we can't hype up out best prospect in forever? We've picked late in the draft for like 30 years because all we did was win. Now that we just lose are we not permitted to get excited about our pipeline?

Don't like it then don't read our prospect threads, simple.

Several teams have had to postpone/reschedule their games due to COVID outbreaks and positive tests. Brynäs is the team who's had to postpone the most games - Malmö has currently played seven more games than Brynäs this season. I assume that whoever decides when their (and any other) postponed games will be played doesn't want the schedule to become too compressed.

Personally, I hope the April 1 game is just set as a tentative date, and that the regular season will finish in March.

ETA: I obviously got the teams mixed up, since Seider is playing for Rögle (Veleno is playing for Malmö). Rögle has currently played six more games than Brynäs.

This is not a bad one-timer, for a kid who supposedly doesn't have a shot.

that wasn't really all that impressive a shot, and is probably as good as it gets for Seider at this point

I hope he can work on that. His shot is about the only thing holding him back from elite status (in terms of his offensive potential)

That seems like the only logical reason to schedule it as they have. Just see how much needs to be rescheduled, and then adjust when you get to the point where you fully understand the situation.

I've always thought his wrist shot is really good at getting through on net, its not crazy hard but its pretty good. But I've honestly probably watched him as much as anyone on this website and I dont think I've seen enough slap shots to even judge it. He uses it an extremely below average amount for sure but its pretty much impossible to say how hard/good his slapshot is.

Its not fair to say he doesnt intimdate anyone with his slap shot when he never uses it. With that being said, with his other traits, he doesnt have to develop an intimidating slapshot to be a number one dman anyways. Having an average shot would probably put him in that area

Oh, I don't disagree. I guess it's a safe bet that he won't challenge Gretzky's career goal record. Still, it was a fine shot. Not hard, but well placed. One of his assists came off a shot from the same position as well. What I'm saying is, his shot may not be great, but his wrister is serviceable as it is, and will likely get better.

yeap, and I said the same thing earlier (post #703) and wondered if Detroit might use him that way on their power play, though I was later informed by someone more knowledgeable than me that Hronek currently plays that same spot on Detroit's power play.

Just about every prospect thread is the same, the fans of the team that drafted the player and the people high on them pre-draft just gush and rave on endlessly. Not sure why anyone would begrudge Redwing fans that same behavior, I mean, read the Jake Sanderson thread, the kid singlehandedly shut down team Canada and is the American Lidstrom.
I agree with MS@6. If you are easily bothered by that, you should avoid the entire prospect section.

This kid is something else. I was a bit apprehensive at first but he clearly can think the game really damn well.

I also agree that his shot is a bit of a muffin. Mechanically, he’s a bit of a work in progress. But I think he needs to use a longer stick to correct some of the mechanical issues.

I think it's very dumb that Seider isn't in the NHL right now. Not least because I have a friend sitting behind him on the same team. But he should go...you know...he's ready and makes space for others.

He is contractually obligated to finish the season in the SHL. If others want his spot, they need to take it.

I also think the crazy hype caused for guys at the world juniors vs a guy doing it in pros should be taken very differently. Seider is the best player in the SHL right now, after playing 25 mins a night in the AHL last season at 18. Hes ragdolling grown men, regularly in their primes while a lot of other guys get hyped like crazy in junior and dont translate.

Its very safe to be hyped about Seider right now because hes doing it in a top 3 or 4 league in the world and its very unlikely he completely falls off a cliff

Best f***ing D prospect outside NHL right now.

I am telling you. With Stuetzle up front and this guy eating up minutes in the backend, Germany would have medaled and knocked off at least one of Russia or Finland. Never mind 17th 2020 pick Lucas Reichel out with COVID regardless.
