Some of the other prospects, like Broberg, have always been known as guys were going to need more work.
Seider is way ahead of a lot of guys because of his size, maturity and pro experience.
Broberg is 6'3 200lbs and also plays pro. Seider is way ahead of him because his hockey sense. A big reason for the hype with Seider is that he already has good hockey sense/size/skill. He is the total package. Broberg has high potential if his hockey sense keeps developing. The same thing was said about Brendan Smith and Colton Parayko. Some guys have it, some don't. Guessing Broberg has it but it will take some time to see.

A few minutes ago i heared a interview with the German U20 coach. It sounded like it was Detroits decision that Seider stays in Sweden.
The coach was understandably very disappointed.

They've already said that it was Seider's decision.

Moritz Seider, the Detroit Red Wings' top pick in the 2019 draft, has decided not to play in this year’s World Junior Championship.

Seider, 19, was Germany’s captain at last year’s event, when he tallied six assists in seven games. This year’s WJC will be in Edmonton from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5.

Red Wings assistant general manager Ryan Martin said the club supports Seider’s decision.

“We left it up to the player,” Martin said. “He has made the decision that he would like to continue playing with Rogle (in the Swedish Hockey League) as opposed to the World Juniors. We would have been supportive of whatever he wanted to do.”

Seider weighed several factors, including the travel, having to spend time in a bubble and having to miss several games in Sweden.

I know. But from the German coach it sounded different. Detroit wants that he stay in Sweden. Because otherwise he misses to many games. You never know. Seider always liked to play for the NT.

Seider is going to be a stud in the NHL. Excited to see him play. His offence is not flashy but it’s simple and effective. Jake Sanderson offensive style reminds me of Seider. Top 3 in redraft for me . Hughes Seider Byram in no particular order.

The best part is that, its his 4th pro season already (DEL, AHL, SHL), he has lots experience from pro games already.
Also, he has played in the mens worlds, to boot.

He might be 19 when the season starts but don't get fooled of his teenage rookie status, he is an adult & pro athlete, 100%.
- over 100 pro games and 5 World Championship games under his belt

Hughes is from the previous year. But yeah, I still remember the furore Yzerman created when he announced Seider on the podium at 6, I was there! But man was it ballsy, turns out he was miles ahead of Broberg and York. Seider Soderstrom then Byram for me looking at ceiling.

I think hes saying Jack Hughes, as in if they did a redraft of that draft year that would be the orfder. Not ranking young dmen

many fans keep criticizing seiders offense forgetting the fact that yes for a forward offense is the most important aspect . but for a dman defense is way more important than for a forward , and more important than their offensive talents . and what seider is when opponants have the puck is elite level , you dont see guys that big strong smart rugged and good skating very often . then on offense its not like hes anywhere near worthless . hes very smart , very strong and balanced on skates and a very good passer . hes solid in the o zone plus makes good outlet passes . and with physical maturity his hands / wrister will get stronger and he will then start scoring more goals . ecspecially when he gets with a talented unit thats able to move and pass the puck he shall get more chances that he will bury .

To claim that he has the foresight to skip Kaako and pick Seider is a bit farfetched though. :)

That could be true but I was just trying to clear up the confusion on what he was talking about. I think a lot of people are down on Hughes and Kakko after the bad rookie seasons they just had for where they were picked

Nope, nothing against Kaako (well other than having a ho hum rookie season), I just think Seider was either under scouted or has made immense strides since being drafted.

I’ve been pretty vocal about my confidence in Seider. He’s done extraordinarily well in 3 different pro men’s leagues as a teenager, while also putting together a great performance at WJC. s

Since when is it so far fetched to have a 6oa ranked ahead of a 2oa in D+2? It’s bold but not crazy.

I mean... He said, "In a re-draft".
oh i see, I misread, I thought he meant in 2019. because back then Seider was not expected to be taken in top 10.

yes, its not farfetched to pick Seider ahead of Kaako now, I still wont, I think Kaako just need to figure a few things out, esp when you pair him with lafreniere down the road. Seider has less ceiling than Kaako from what I see from Rogle so far. he's not far off though.

Nevermind that Kakko and Hughes struggled in the NHL, while Seider is doing well in a 2nd (or 3rd) tier league. Kakko and Hughes should have stayed in Finland/played in the CHL or NCAA or something and put up insane numbers against shit competition then everyone would claim they're the best prospects in the world AINEC

Seider is the real deal, nevermind that he is in the SHL.
