It's too bad Team Canada won't get him next year in Vancouver. Nice pick. Was thinking about him particularly before the start of the round 2 of the draft last year. Right handed dman 61 points 67 games, can never go wrong by adding a dman, gets drafted by Colorado. lol

So, the update on this lad is he hasn't been able to work out the entire summer after sustaining a concussion in the OHL conference finals...in which he returned from the hit to finish the game (not going to get into a blaming game here). Around the end of training camp he was conducting some on-ice drills every other day to see how he felt. Afterwards, Sakic wanted to keep him around so he can get back into game shape, get some dry-land training under his feet, and over time eventually get him back to where he belongs. However, he hasn't progressed as much as they expected, so they sent him home to relax and recuperate.

He has his whole hockey career still ahead of him, but things are not looking too good.

Was wondering what was going on with him. Thanks. I hope he recovers fully, no matter how long it takes.

I feel so bad for Timmins. I'm a huge Meloche fan, and thus was annoyed by the shiny-new-toy syndrome that befell our fanbase wrt 'loche & Timms...so I've been accused of being biased against Timmins...but this is just the worst. :(

I really hope he can make a full recovery in time and doesn't suffer any longterm issues.

That's the bad news. The good news is that his concussion symptoms are completely gone, but he lost the entire summer of getting stronger due to those symptoms. Avs rather stay on the cautious side and not put him in a bad situation then him not being strong enough to defend himself and perhaps sustain another concussion.

Talent and smarts are there. He's going to have to work especially hard to make up for a crucial year of development he lost.

Do think this is the smart thing to do, not much for him to gain from being dropped into play at the tail end of the season with little to no hockey conditioning.

The bad news is he missed an entire season which is a massive blow to his development.

Sorry SEPH but that article says he is still suffering from concussion symptoms? Is their another article or tweet confirming he is symptom free?

Best of luck to this kid. Very sad situation.

Hopefully his health gets taken care of and he can play because he looks to be a stud. Super impressed with his play in the OHL.

Really hope he can get back on track. Such a good prospect. Would be a shame if this ended/derailed his career completely.

I believe Conor played in the Avs prospect camp last month. Anaheim is hosting a prospect tournament September 7-10 and Colorado is participating, so hopefully he'll play there.
