He had a good preseason and a strong start to the beginning of the season for a team trying to completely change the culture/play style. I think he'll be just fine next year.

He was also the third defenceman with most ice time in his few games played, so he was kind of rushed into a bigger role too.

Average TOI leaders from October. He was averaging the 5th most TOI by a defenseman at the time (perhaps 4th if you want to discount Mayo only playing 4 games).

I think it's because the last game he left really early with an injury and on such a small sample, it screw up with the median a lot
