I think with Methot out for a very short period of time, they chose to give Ceci a game or two as a reward for his play thus far and to show him what the Big Leagues are about.

If it were a long term injury, with a guy needed to be called up for a prolonged period of time, I think that Borowiecki would have got the call, and Ceci could continue in Bingo.

Ceci has earned it, and it is exciting, but I would expect a short stay for Ceci.

Dreams do come true!! Congrats on your NHL debut Ceci!! Enjoy the moment!!

Came away very impressed tonight. Loved how he wasn't scared to play his game, you usually see guys play timid in their first game. He was joining the rush from the get go. Surprised me how strong he was, won a lot of puck battles. I'm excited to see more of him though I do not expect him to put out this kinda game every night. With that said very encouraging what we say tonight.

What I love most about Ceci is he's a puck mover and a puck rusher. He's a great passer when he has a passing seam but when he has room, man can this kid move up the ice with the puck. His D game is what's keyed on as an area to improve, but he's improved leaps and bounds playing under coach Richardson this season in Bingo. If he keeps improving like he has in bingo (he'll be sent back soon) then the kid looks like a sure fire top-4 dman in the future.

positively surprised. didnt think he was that ready.

And he's probably not, just played a good first game in the NHL. I liked that his strengths seem to be effective at this level, but his weaknesses (defensive play) weren't really tested against the lowly Buffalo Sabres.

Said it after the draft and I'll say it again. He'll be better than Rielly. Rielly is better at some things but Ceci will be a better all around d-man.

Defensive play is not a weakness.

Sens shouldnt be allowed to draft defenceman at 15:sarcasm:. Loved this kid during is draft year, wish MTL had two top15 picks. You guys will be set on the right side for a while

First NHL goal is tonight's OT winner against St. Louis.

Small sample size, but he's looking good so far.

He's been nothing short of extraordinary for Ottawa so far. Very exciting to watch him progress. I hope he backs up all the praise and predictions I had for him.

I was Ceci's biggest fan before/the year he got drafted but was insanely disappointed with his last season in the OHL.

His progression this year as a pro is phenomenal. He's taken the next step faster then I thought he would. I thought he was 2 years away. Looks like I was wrong. Coach Richardson in Bingo really is amazing.

Man, this kid is something. The little plays he makes are so damn smart. The fake shot before the goal that fools the defender and gives him a shooting lane is a thing of beauty. There is also a .gif floating around of his play to break the puck out before the Ryan goal. Just beautiful.

I doubt he can keep this up on a game to game basis, but right now there is no way they can take this kid out of the lineup. He has been the top 4 D we have been so sorely missing.

Whenever a kid comes up and plays well there's always a chance (expectation?) he takes a dive and he's back to the minors. I like to think there's usually indications that there's a good chance it can drop off though (maybe not).

All I can say is Ceci's played like a player already adjusted to NHL speed with no glaring fundamental and positional flaws. He's also added a defensemen capable of 20 minutes of competent puck movement that I believe to be the team's biggest need.

I think regardless of what happens short-term, we're seeing a player that could turn into a 25 minute a game defensemen long-term.
