Okay, so I'm guessing that was a recent edit then? Read the entire thread and couldn't believe no one mentioned that.

How does Ceci compare to Tyler Cuma?

A friend made the comparison as a buyer beware analogy. Both come from the 67's organization, have similar builds, and are touted at being very good at everything but not exceptional in anything.

Does Cuma's lack of development or the fact the 67's haven't graduated a skilled d-man since Campbell cause you any concern that Ceci is more a product of the 67's system?

Cuma had a ton of injury problems that derailed his development. Its the only reason he's not in the NHL right now. He was one of the smartest defenceman I've ever seen on the 67s. Its a tragedy that he's had to deal with all those injuries.

Cuma also didn't have nearly the offensive potential Ceci has.

Exactly.

People just assume because he racks up points, he sacrifices defensive play. He's almost as good Defensively as he is Offensively.

Can't speak for others who think the same but the few times I've seen him he seemed great offensively... but at times you could see that he appeared lost when there was pressure in his own end (following the wrong player, standing on the side of the net etc.)

What I'm reading seems to indicate otherwise... And I would like to select him in my upcoming sim League draft... but I can't remove those images when I think about him.

His shot will be useful on either PP unit, especialyl since hes a righty. He'll be a solid second pairing 5 on 5 and on one of the PP units.

This.

Ceci is also absolutely amazing at dragging the puck along the blueline to the center of the ice, making a perfect PP player.

Not really similar builds. Ceci is listed as in inch taller, and 25 pounds heavier at draft time. Ceci still outweighs him by a good margin.

In his draft year Cuma accumulated all of 4 goals compared to 17 for Ceci, due mainly to Ceci having a much better shot. And point wise Ceci had almost twice as many.

The simple fact is Ceci is bigger, stronger, much more offensively inclined, and as good defensively. Ceci really could use Cuma physical play mind you, but that is the only area he is short in.

In truthfulness, I do not easily remember the last 67's D man who was this good in his draft year. Cuma was not close, Campbell was not close, I'd probably say Nick Boyton.

I'd agree with all of this. Boynton is the closest I'd say aswell. Cuma lacked the high-end offensive ability that those 2 have/had although I'd say he was a touch better then Ceci in his draft year though. It's really close though.

He's a top 10 pick to me... Great all around ability...

While I think he is going to go somewhere between 9 and 15 the scouting report on both him and Maata is terrible.

Ceci has a rocket shot and is very hard to play against down low in his end.

Maata is an effortless skater with a fantastic stride and an unreal first pass however they say the complete opposite.

Seems to me like they are just trying to play it overly safe so they dont look ridiculous if a player fails/falls, not my kindof break down. You need to be bold somewhere, inaccurate break downs of players skill sets also tells me they probably didnt really watch him and just went by where people ranked them on average on different draft lists.
