You already have a stud C. Leave some for the rest. This just excites me so much. That right side has a bright future. Amazing that Wilde could be the point man for the PP with Dobson and Pulock on deck.
Also, Dobson’s ability and hockey IQ are going to be relied on heavily one day for ES and PK like you said.
So excited. Not get a stud center and LHD and we’re in business.
Kids better then both the Isles first rounders
As an Islanders fan I would say that he probably has passed Wahlstrom in terms of my hopes of him having a great NHL career but Dobson is still the diamond of all our prospects
I agree and disagree, Bode has the upside on Dobson but Dobson is a lock to be a #3 at worst. Bode could be Brent Burns 2.0

It may have not been fair for the Rangers goalie, either. I watched those two paired together for the NTDP for 2 seasons, and they gave up more breakaways and odd-man rushes than I can ever remember seeing by a major junior team.A potential future pairing of K’Andre Miller and Bode Wilde wouldn’t have been fair.

Both are good prospects, but it was our worst pairing at the 2018 WJC18. The hockey IQ of the pairing is the problem. Both players kept failing to realize that they are defensemen, and need to play defense. They needed to play with more defensively oriented players who can babysit their rover mentality. I haven't seen enough to say if Wilde has improved in that area this season, but Miller still needs to be babysat defensively.

Ok
Watched Wilde all year and he does not have 2 Memorial Cups under his belt but is 6'4 200lbs who can shoot, skate, pass, hit, and lead his team to their best season ever. He is not as far behind Dobson as some might think.
He is recovering from a lower body injury sustained during training camp. He was recently assigned to bridgeport so I assume that is where he will eventually play, but Trotz says there is no timetable for his returnI see Wilde has not played any games yet, it is confirmed he will be playing for Bridgeport this season?
I get what your saying about junior hockey for sure. I kind of wish the NHL were more open to loaning players overseas or something, I think a stint in the Swedish or Swiss league would be interesting for a player like him. Imagine he'll figure it out in the AHL in time thoughAny updates on projected return? High ankle trauma soft tissue injuries can take time to rehab. Was looking forward to seeing a healthy Wilde to start the season in Bridgeport and being a Saginaw fan we would like to see him in his Sag jersey. But his developments direction has changed. I have mentioned this on another Thread and maybe Saginaw is good to rehab the injury keep the confidence up and still develop with quality TOI. PP, PK and top 2 pairing with Solovyov who is leading all D in the OHL in points.
As mentioned in the past NYI want to have him under their wing and who could blame them.
Not bad for himSent down to Saginaw. Yikes.
Going CHL -> AHL -> CHL is definitely not a normal path. Not bad for him
Get a real taste of pro life, saw how hard it is...now go back working on flaws and get confidence back
Kid is was 19 until few days ago, normal path to NHL
Not normal because age and junior agreement with the A. It's a unique circumstance. Doesn't mean it's bad though.Going CHL -> AHL -> CHL is definitely not a normal path.
I think the real issue here is that the same aspects of his game that were a problem since before his draft year are still present. The lack of production in the AHL is odd, though. Hopefully this move will end up being looked back on as a key decision to get his confidence back.
