This thread is pure gold! Reminds me of when the Blues had air head Rob Ramage and allowed him to talk. Will be checking out Sabres games to hear this magical idiot say funny stuff. It's right up there with lost in translation quotes from European guys.

I actually think he's improved a lot as an analyst this season, though he'd still be best-utilized between the benches as a third commentator. His Rayzorisms are still off the charts. Also off the charts are the uncomfortable moments when RJ's doing the play-by-play.

oh yeah, he's come light years from where he was when he started. It was really strange at first seeing that tough guy hero have zero confidence in what he was doing at first. now he just goes with it, and I bet the whole crew jokes about this same stuff with him when the camera isn't running.

I'm actually enjoying Rayzor's commentary this year. His analysis is pretty good, and he talks to a lot of the guys and gets some pretty good insights. He's also pretty funny. Yeah, he mis-pronounces stuff, but I don't mind. I've always liked Rob.

The weird thing about Buffalo broadcasts compared to most of the other teams in the league is that, because RJ has to do the play-by-play for the radio listeners, the color commentator only speaks during breaks and never during the action. Overall, I think that's a good thing because I hate when other broadcast teams start having private conversations about something other than the game. Anyway, it does limit Ray's opportunities to speak, for better and worse.
