It’s a bad trade but you’ll never know exactly how bad unless of course you know what players the Flyers were going to take with their pics. The price was definitely too high for a scratch off ticket that already had most of it scratched off.

My favorite was when a puck was dumped past him and he chased it for a few strides, then stopped skating for a beat, and only restarted when he realized Lucic was in fact going to try to go get it.

Biggest disappointment with Risto is his complete lack of offensive chops as well. The guy literally does nothing well. Thought he’d be at least able to get some shots in from the point occasionally or just make some plays to keep the puck in the other zone. Pretty horrible. Not even being that physical either.

They're 4-2-1, Ristolainen has looked like the prime Ristolainen that Chucky has coveted for years, and the casual fanbase is absolutely thrilled with all the new additions and how the teams looked so far.
He's thinking his offseason was a massive success. Our goals against per game is down to 2.82 from 3.46 last year. Officially no longer #PoorDefensively.

Sanheim gets repeated chances, so I'll bet they'll get theirs.
Heck, NAK was brain dead last year, and got another shot this year, played himself out of a lineup for Brown.
At some point, it's the player's fault.

Over who? And why do we want them to play with someone as horrendous as Risto? He's the guy who should be out of the lineup. The scapegoating of Sanheim was inevitable, I guess. He doesn't fit the idiotic Flyers mold that has produced decades of failure but they remain devoted to.

We should not be confident that anyone will give us a first back for Risto. First, Fletcher is probably in too deep on this one to do anything but extend.
But more importantly, his value in the offseason was fueled by dumbass Hockeyguys GMs who convinced themselves that the problem with Risto was playing in Buffalo, and that they could fix him. That fantasy is gone. He doesn't suck because he was in Buffalo. He sucks because he sucks.

I'm not impressed at all. All I knew when he came here was that he was supposed to be an bigger presence and very physical. His puck handling is lackluster and frankly i don't see him hitting people hard and knocking them down. Was he supposed to have offensive instincts? He seems like a run of the mill big defensemen. I expected a lot more.

I have to know which physical fitness tests he was so dominant in during camp. Guy doesn't have a fast twitch muscle fiber in his body. Looks like Kubina out there.

Talk about 2 radically different gm's.
One gm get cheap players like Niang and Andre and makes our bench so much better.
The other gm has hits (Cam is a hit)
The other gm gets cheap players like Nate and overpays a truckload for Risto.
