the good: nothing
The bad: his play
The ugly: how much we gave up to get him
The uglier: his next contract
The ugliest: the eventual trade of Sanheim to free up cap to sign this moron

Ghost + 1st + 2nd + 2nd + Hagg (trash, but someone would’ve paid something for him) for Ristolainen

Hard to remember a worse Flyers trade.

Yandle isn't the Ghost replacement, Ristolainen is.

What really stinks is that you could have had Reinhart instead and probably payed close to what we'll get for Eichel.

If it's any comfort Ristolainen usually has a period of 5-6 games where he is outstanding, then it's pumpkin time again. Hopefully his good games coincides with the playoffs, his last ot he won the JWC for Finland!

It's definitely the opportunity cost that bothers me the most. If you parade that pick package around the league, you are going to get a player of significant value, maybe beyond a rental. But Fluck Chetcher is on record saying he coveted Ristolainen for years, and he was willing to pay a king's ransom -- beating out at least the Devils, Oilers, Canadiens, Jets -- for the privilege of renting (we hope) a 500 game reclamation project who was never good to begin with. A player who could take a big step and still be mediocre. He's the same damn player as he was in Buffalo because that's who he is. But he has a snarl when he makes a hit, and Fluck gets a tingle.

The good is that he's only under contract for this year(Currently).

The bad is his play.

The ugly is what we paid to get it.

You have have an original thought old man? Or do I have to carry you through everything?

I'm not 100% sure on that, but I know it was because of hitchcock
Sharpe: I think it was a great trade by Clarkie because I had to get out of there and Clarkie had told us that he didn't want to trade me, but I had requested to go play somewhere else. I felt like I needed to get some ice time and some opportunity, so he granted the request. And for that I'm thankful to Mr. Clarke
