If you want to go back to a time where the Kings were garbage for years, you are going to get a different type of poster than some of the new jacks who have popped up since they started making the playoffs. Regardless, if a great poster leaves, it is difficult to replace them as many of these posters from the early-to-mid '00s who have moved on were, as I remember, older in age with a longer history of watching the Kings and hockey in general.
There is many a Kings fan on this board that can be described as noveau riche. As it was for many Canucks fans, there are many people that don't wear winning very well. You deal with it at Staples now too with a myriad of uneducated new fans but, hey, it is a small price to pay for winning. I'd rather they win and have a supposedly weaker GDT than go back to 2004.
I do think the majority of us expect the Kings to win, given their record the last two seasons and the amount of money being spent on this team. PGTs after a win are generally shorter because, unless a new player or prospect has a great game, there isn't much need to talk about how Kopitar killed it again. "Park and ride" as Sutter says. If this team goes in the crapper though, like it did in January, then you are going to have a lot more discussion. That's only natural to me. I do think that some of the "negative" posters were kind of driven off the board once they started to win as there is a strong groupthink at play, as evidenced by shots taken at Herby whenever something good occurs to one of the players he thinks is garbage, but it is hard for me to shake being negative as a Cup Run and one full season of good hockey following does not equal 26 years of mostly disapointment.
I was on LGK back in 1997 along with Gann's old site. I left LGK behind probably in '04 as I found this board to be less "nudge nudge, wink wink" and more about hockey only. Now, there is a bit more of that these days, such as RP and CNS needing to get a room every once in awhile

, but to me it isn't a nightmare or anything because, at the end of the day, there are still very knowledgeable posters on this board and it isn't hard to find them.
As always, the "ignore" feature is your friend. If there is someone that is just a .gif bomber that you don't want cluttering up your thread, then ignore them.
