I remember northernKing, he was actually here before me on the old style boards. He is still around but doesn't post often. I remember he was the Kings selector for the 2001 mock draft (and I'm sure he did a better job than Dave Taylor).

Osprey still occasionally posts on the main boards and used to post on the politics board. Also remember him from LGK back in the day.

What about Game Misconduct?

Wasn't there a guy from New Zealand or something? ...."punchy01" or something like that? He was all over this board then he one day announced that he was diagnosed with cancer and shortly thereafter stopped posting. Remember that guy? I haven't seen a post from him since 2006....

Osprey, meh I guess he was ok. He showed up in threads mostly when there was losing involved.

Game Misconduct was a awesome poster, as was David, Fugu and GKJ.

This started on a pretty terrible note, but has gotten more productive, so it'll stay open for now.

I see you joined in 2002. That's TWELVE YEARS. people don't stick around forever, they often move on. Kings board is one of the better boards on HF. If you think the grass is greener, I suggest you look around and we'll see you again soon. If you don't want to post here or even lurk anymore, hey, we aren't holding you hostage.

Be the change you want to see--if you want productive discussion in the PGTs, feel free to contribute. Many of us try. Many of us also like celebrating in different ways. We try not to over-mod this board in particular but if you see stuff you don't like then feel free to contribute in different ways. If you see stuff breaking the rules, hit report. Otherwise, there's not much else to say. It is what it is. This is a message board on the internet and though it's been long-living and mostly productive community, people change and you may not change with it. I know this board as well as others have long-standing friendships and friendly rivalries and that isn't going away anytime soon.

I remember I had some pretty heated debates over Colten Teubert, when people still thought he was the next Scott Stevens (or by this point probably the next Sean O'Donnell or Matt Greene). I simply stated that once a first round pick hits the ECHL his career is over. I got a nasty response both on the board and in PM's from a poster whom I know was banned. It was pretty hilarious how pissed the guy got. Told me I hated Teubert only because he was traded for Cammalleri and that he was going to let me hear about it when Teubert became a great NHL defenseman.

Was Squid one of Ron's alts or different poster entirely? Also where has Kurrilino been recently, don't think he's same with PSP. Haven't heard a peep from them since the Cup win.
Seeing some of those names makes me want to go searching and see when their last posts were. Only change I've noticed has been less of a focus on discussing prospects and upcoming drafts and more of a focus on the NHL squad. But that comes with winning the cup and becoming a contending team instead of a blackhole or bottom feeder.

If Tafkact is who I think he is (and I'm pretty sure) I talked to him for a couple of minutes between periods during Game 1 in St. Louis. He lives in Nashville now. I couldn't quite put the name to the face but I knew him from either here or LGK and then remembered who he was afterwards.

His opinions were built only in a way so that he could play the contrarian and debate the unpopular opinion. He told me as much. Some people just like a good debate no matter how much people dislike you in the process.

I respect and enjoy reading everyones posts and opinions honestly. Including whinning, venting, etc, etc! Some of the things people post here are absolute gems! I come on to read what people say about everything concerning Hockey. kings fans on this board are still the best compared to the rest.

Was anyone else at Yard House for the little pre-game drinking before a game a few years ago. I was in town and remember meeting Zad, JCD and Diehard. But there were about 12 people, anyone else remember being there?

Oh and I'll take credit for the 80's toys. I think I was the one that started that. Didn't realize I was trivializing the hot hockey talk that was going on in there. I did move some of my posts over to the OT thread.

The names change but the content stays the same. There hasn't been much of a discernable change since I've been around. I think there are a few less people in the "axis of evil" as I used to call it. I think most of the opinions of most have kinda hovered around the centrist area. The weather is good in LA so there is less to be critical of and less polarizing views. There is some contrived criticism from some posters that I just ignore because some people will complain about anything.

What happened the Kurrilino? I see him post every once in a while but I miss his tirades.

Sorry, one thing I absolutely disagree with is this place turning into anything like LGK

I've been here since 2010 and lurked for a few years before then and I think things are mostly the same. One thing is for sure though, the Kings are no longer the lovable losers, expectations have changed, and should have. Hell, look at how OTHER fans react to the Kings now, it's impossible to view the Kings through the same prism as many did when we were awful.

Yeah that's definitely him then. He has been around the Kings messageboard communities for a really long time. He was sitting in the same section as my girlfriend and I in St. Louis.
