Yes. I wasn't being an ass.
Wow, there's a first time for everything :D

The good thing about the Jets is that they're usually the ones doling out the punishment rather than receiving it, so I don't think McD's shoulder would be a concern. Besides, he got hurt being used as a RD going into the corners. He won't be on the right side in WPG

So you spit on my attempt to be good natured instead of encouraging it? Now you all shall bathe in apocalyptic disdain....

Idk, I'm saying it might not be a good fit given his anatomical changes.

I think the shoulder concerns are overblown at this point, but I guess we can just leave it at that. Do you have any ideas regarding Brooks' column or potential trades you'd like to see?

I'm not in favor of a fire sale.

I'd have to see credible offers for the players.

I think more moves should be made in the off season.

We'll set about preparing for the full brunt of your devastating apocalyptic assault the way we would for the approach of a cadre of toothless pups! Bring it you biteless dog!

Too many posts to respond to. A few quick notes.

1. No, I do not feel insulted. There are varying degrees of opinions on this topic, and that makes for interesting conversation. Nothing taken personally on my end.

2. The Toronto mention was a hypothetical, not a trade rumor. There's only so much I can dissect it.

3. Re: McDonagh - I very much consider him a number one defenseman. I wouldn't consider him a franchise defenseman, but I think we have to understand that not all number one defenseman put up a 60 points either. But I'd definitely consider McD to be in the upper tier and I think the majority of people in the sport probably do as well.

4. I do not believe a fire sale is necessary. I think some smart moves, however unconformable the thought might be, are going to be necessary. They key is to find the right moves. McD in particular I would be reluctant to trade unless you have a deal you at least really like.

Kings would be an interesting one. They could load up for two more runs and have a couple high end prospects in Klague and Vilardi. Then of course they'd have to probably pick between McDonagh and Doughty next summer.

That's why I'm not sure LA would be interested in McD, unless they going into it knowing they won't be able to resign both and think they are 1 player away from winning.

Yeah that's what they'd have to be thinking. You probably have two types of teams considering adding Mac. One is the team that wants to bring him in, and likely keep him long term. The other is the team that looks at him as a "rental" for the next two playoffs who could potentially make them a cup favorite. The Kings would likely be the latter. Doughty/McD and Muzzin/Martinez is a heck of a top-4.

Alternatively, if they think Doughty might walk as a UFA and chase big money, they could hedge themselves against that by extending McDonagh and still have a pretty solid blue line.

I mean if you're doing that then Vilardi, Klague, and their 1st all have to be on the table. That'd be tough for them to swallow.

I think they would only be able to afford one. I doubt they guy their farm system for the 2.

Deal should look something like Vilardi, Ladue, 2018 #1 and a conditional #2 If they make the cup finals.
