I'm not saying Cally was bad this game. I'm just pointing out this game shouldn't be a highlight of sorts because the guy is capable of much more.

Oh i agree, a good Callahan game is usually about a half a dozen hits, 3 or 4 shots on goal, and some great set up plays, a great Callahan game is all those with a point recorded, and an amazing Callahan game is like the one on Sunday. All those mentioned and the point recorded is a clutch goal. lol.

Tonight he was decent, not bad, but not great. We seen much more from him like we did Sunday.

I want to forget this came ever happened, and just move on to the next one.

He was outplayed by Poulin. If Poulin didn't have a god tier end of the 2nd, first half and last minute of the third, the Rangers win this 5-4.

It happens. He was solid tonight.

And that's the thing. As inconsistent as the Rangers were, if not for Poulin pulling rabbits out of his ***, the Rangers win a game where they were severely outplayed at times.

Hate to say the Fishsticks were lucky because of the way they played, but in a way they were.

Why bring up the Islanders. We were in that very same position the Islanders were.

I didn't bring them up, someone else did, I quoted them, now I'm commenting on their point.

They really dont care whether they win or lose. they love all of their players. we despise literally all of our players except McDonagh. anytime anyone on this team makes a mistake we ***** and moan to no end. the isles fans cheer for Kevin Poulin and Anders Nilson, we hate on Henrik Lundqvist when he lets in a goal that he could have stopped. They havent given up on Okposo, half this board wouldve traded kreider at the beginning of the year and stepan for scraps. John Moore and MDZ would be two of their best dmen, yet we complain about them nonstop.

Exactly. In the GDT, I think every single player was called stupid or dumb at some point. Yeah, they're such dumb hockey players. That explains why they're in the NHL and we're watching them on TV every other night.

So far, in the past, maybe month, we've had threads about how Hank sucks and has an albatross contract, how Nash is a lazy floater who's career is over and who's cap hit is going to kill the team, and how Stepan is a stupid hockey player who can't do anything right. Now, weeks later, Hank is playing lights out, stealing games, Nash has 9 goals in 9 games, and Stepan is playing about as well as anyone could reasonably expect him to. Looks like good players don't lose talent overnight. What a shocker. It's unbearable reading some of this garbage and it's the same stuff every year.

Lol go to their board when they're on a losing streak. Just as bad there as it is here. Just as bad on any of the team's board's after a loss because people who post on HF are not casual fans, they are passionate fanatics.

It's either that, or how much Sather sucks.

I admit to being opposed to the Lundqvist contract.

Cally's line couldn't get that puck in deep. He and Hags would be working behind the net, and I swear I couldn't find Richards anywhere.

There was no play below the circles from them, and that's where they need to be.

In all fairness, none of the lines really had the puck in deep for long periods of time. I think at the end of the game when Talbot was pulled they had the most time in there. Then a timeout later leads to an EN goal. :shakehead

Talbot laid an egg. It happens. Hes a backup. He seems to play better on the road. This loss isnt that big a deal. People are freaking out over a close game.

The Blues just got annihilated by the worst offense in the league. Guess they suck too and should trade everyone.

You are out of your mind. Not one of those goals were on Talbot.

Well he hasn't looked great the past couple of games, and the last time he really picked up his play was when he was made a healthy scratch. Zuccarello has had a chip on his shoulder throughout his professional career b/c of his size, he's not the type to take demotions the wrong way, I think he'll come out flying next game.

When you give 110% in every game, and it's not being appreciated, then maybe it's time to consider another team for the future.

I can understand if Zucc slows down his game, after being treated like that.

It's his first game under 14 minutes in like three months, he will be fine, he is not being treated poorly by AV.

Frustrating game - but if not for Poulin, we win, despite playing poorly. Maybe they were reading their press clippings, because they looked slow and over-passed the puck.

Isles have a lot of speed up front, seemed to give us trouble, even so, they give up scoring chances by the boatload.

None of the goals on Talbot were stoppable. He didn't give up any soft ones at all. Defense was horrid.

Stepan and Del Zotto need skating lessons.

Seriously. Most posters here would have lit their NYR swag on fire and jumped off a bridge a decade ago if they were in the situation the Isles have been. Can't even take losing in a close game once after a great run without hitting the panic button.

Losing when you're up 2 goals against a last place team when you have the personnel the Rangers have is unacceptable.

None were soft. I don't know if they were unstoppable. 3rd goal was a pretty bad rebound, big fail on Del Zotto though as always.

Didn't lose because of Talbot. Lost because of sloppy defense, poor coverage by the forwards, not burying chances (except for Nash, Kreider), poor passing, no forecheck, etc.. Still would have won if not for Poulin.

Been watching Rangers-Islanders for 40+ years, Islanders always play us like it's game 7 of SCF. Their record in games after they play us is pathetic.
