Anyway after injury both Zuc & Buch continue to be productive building value.

But maybe Lias was recalled too early - he did very well in AHL with top 6 minutes until they recalled him.

Again, whose this "anyone else" you're referring to?
Mittelstadt, Liljegren, Brannstrom, Tolvanen, Vilardi, Suzuki, Jokiharju, Necas, Thomas, Valimaki, Vesalainen, Kostin, Frost, Yamamoto, Vaakanainen, Tippett, etc. And most of the rest of the players are arguable. Obviously, some of those players will end up as busts, but I still feel like almost anyone that was picked in the 1st round after us would have been a better selection than Lias. I hope I’m wrong, though.

I don't know who's been saying what for all these years, but the Rangers haven't had a prospect on D like Miller in my lifetime.

Exactly. And, the ability to draft a player like Miller or Chytil is why you want a 1st in the package for Hayes. The Rangers have shown that’s their approach in the draft.

Because you "feel" something doesn't make it fact though. All you did was just list all the players that came after him

None of them have proven anything beyond what Lias has thus far.

None of the players I mentioned even played in the NHL. If they had, at the age of 20, who knows how they would have played. I think people forget Lias has played at a higher level for the last 3 years compared to these players at the same age. SHL, AHL and now NHL.

If he had played in juniors, he would be putting up amazing numbers (like he did in SuperElit U20 at the age of 17)
I hope I’m wrong about him, but how do you know he would produce amazing numbers in juniors? Based on one season of being in juniors? Besides, the numbers are irrelevant. Completely irrelevant. Do you know how many prospects produced amazing numbers in lower levels, but ended up as busts in the NHL?

He did that against professionals, not against teenagers in juniors. It wasn’t at a lower level.

So true, hell, Kypreos was a 50 goal scorer in junior lmao

That’s the point. Anyone else in the first round would have a been better selection. Besides, I didn’t list every player. I listed the ones that I believe, based on stats, projections, and the eye test, have more upside than Lias. And that I believe have more value than Lias. And I’m pretty sure I still left out a couple other prospects.

And I don’t care what Lias has proven so far. I will take a prospect with 1st line/pair upside (but a good chance to bust) over a prospect that is basically a guaranteed 2nd/3rd line tweener any day of the week. And we don’t even know if Lias will reach that level. He could be a bottom 6 forward. I don’t want to come of an an a**hole, but this is just my opinion. Again, I really hope I am wrong.

He played pro hockey since he was 17. He was one of the instrumental players to HV71's SHL championship at the age of 18. He led his team at the World Juniors and was their best forward.

You said there is a slim chance of him developing at age 20. I still have to see what this is based on. Not even McDavid reached his ceiling at age 20. It's just an ignorant statement based on a disappointing performance in the NHL at age 20. Again, Couture, Scheiffele, Kadri, Granlund, Niederreiter. Schenn etc didn't even play in the NHL at that age.

Alright then

How stupid are these guys that they keep double covering a player without the puck and leaving the weakside wide open?
