I don't know, I actually feel like C is one spot that they're not horrible at.

The thought of Byram and Miller makes my pants damp though.

They're not horrible a center but Stanley Cup teams are incredible at center, not "not horrible."

We have Zibanejad and maybe between Chytil, Andersson and Howden we will get another one.
After this game I finally came to the conclusion that we have 0 defensemen on this roster for the long term, we have to pray that at least 75% of Miller, Lundkvist, Hajek, Rykov, Lindgren, Day, Bigras and cia are decent enough to have a chance in the next 5 years.
What a **** show is this defense, it's ****ing unbelievable.

Worst defense in the NHL, without a doubt.

Why does everyone care so much about losing in regulation? Losing in any way is bad for the team. It kills morale, which kills performance on the ice. Which can stunt the development of our young players.

I do get it, though. I want that top 3-5 pick as well, but I would rather have a happy team and let our prospects have fun.

Buch and Zucc missing time leading to constantly shifting lines and guys playing up in the lineup prob contributes to that.

We should hope to see those numbers start to go back up as they get healthy and guys get more solid in the lineup. Although if Hayes misses time and with shatty already out who knows.

The injuries have been at forward, though.

The defense is what it is, and I think that's the driving force behind the tank.

Shattenkirk is our best lol.

I mean there’s a difference between the goalie playing poorly leading to a loss or a goalie playing well enough to win but his team playing poorly. These guys shit their pants in the third.

Which goals do you think were bad goals? I thought the OEL one was bad but it was more a fluke bad luck goal bc of the knuckle puck than a bad play by the goalie. That puck doesn’t go in 99% of the time.

If you mean the Stepan goal, I vehemently disagree. That was a perfectly placed shot, right under the bar and tight enough to the goalie’s ear that it’s almost impossible to get with the glove. That’s as close to perfect as a shot can get.

Not for nothing but if Pionk didn’t take that stupid penalty, after he himself crashed into Hank, we probably hold the lead. Coyotes had nothing going at that point. Completely changed the momentum of the game. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Is it just me or does Howden fan on the puck a lot? That was a pretty bad time for him to fan on it in OT, prob should’ve scored there.

Trust me, I was as pissed as anyone at Pionk when the Coyotes scored on that power play, but the turning point was our inability to score on the 5 on 3. It was almost 2 minutes long, and we had another power play right after that one. Hill, as every backup goalie does at MSG, stood on his head that period.

Eh, I thought Hank made some great saves. The team in front of him should have done more. Does he wish he could get one back? Probably. But he shouldn't have to.

Yeah and the sad thing is if Shatty were getting the PP time on the first unit he should’ve been getting for the last month, maybe we’d have another 2 or 3 wins in the standings. So I guess it’s good for the tank that Quinn has been an idiot in that regard.

Although the 3 PP goals tonight probably buys Pionk the rest of the season on the PP in Quinn’s eyes bc he had a point, which was a standard Pionk pp point- just shuffled the puck to a player who scored on their own. Having almost nothing to do with it lol. I like Quinn but his blind spot with Pionk and the PP is annoying.

I've liked Quinn, but it's clear that this team doesn't have the ability to play an actual structure and still generate zone time.

I wish we had Quinn around 2014, 2015 and AV now.

This is why, as much as it would hurt, I'd entertain the idea of trading Kreider for a legit D-man. and hope you can get a 2nd one or at least a top D-prospect for Hayes. Our backend is just horrible
