Let's drop the Avery comparisons now before it gains any traction. Avery was at least an established NHLer and quite a bit more skilled (at the pro level) than Beach.

Are we talking horrible and crazy in the sense that

he pulls the wings off flies and then eats the flies

or is it more of a

skins puppies and kittens and uses the pelts for slippers

I look forward to his first call up. This team needs a little crazy on the 4th line to shake things up on occasion. He can't be less of an asset than Mashinter.

He's just as likely to flame out, but it's worth a shot. If nothing else then at least the Harftford game will get a little more fun to watch between Haley, Beach, and Mcilrath.

Avery was a pretty good skater, while Beach is apparently not. That alone ends any comparison between the two.

My only question: Is he psychotic?

Lied. Second question: Can he actually play in the NHL?

This team is seriously lacking in the psycho department. Why didn't they just call up Haley instead of JT?

character is overvalued around here. unless he disrupts the locker room, who cares if he's a piece of ****? I hope other team hate him. If he can become a fourth line player that gets under the opposition's skin, great.

And if not, it's only mashinter. No loss.

yuuup

I hope so, we need a player that will snap his stick in half over his knee & try to gouge someones eyes out with the jagged end. Or take his skate off & start cutting opposing players throats on the bench as he glides by on one leg.

Now, that IS entertaniment. MSG stock should sky rocket as soon as Beach goes buck wild the first time.:yo:

Im a tad wary, as im thinking that we already take enough "stupid" penalties. Getting a "psychotic goon" out there could potentially hurt us quite bad in that department.

Of course there is also a potential upside if he turns out to be a well disciplined pest (but the psycho part makes that less likely, hehe).

No risk…low reward.

Beach is, rather unfortunately, the cheese standing alone amongst the first 17 picks of the 2008 entry draft.

Aren't the Rangers one of the least penalized teams in the league lately?

i would like to hear from Rangers management or someone in the organization on why they made this trade.. maybe they see a little upside from him at a low price.. maybe with the right coaching, it can work.. who knows.. still young only 23.. its not like he is Billy Tibbetts... he played for the Rangers at one point..
