This is not a move that signify that this is a seriously run organization. I always been intrigued with Beach. But then I saw him in the SEL this season. He wasn't really close to being able to compete at that level. No potential or ability. Mashinter was atleast a hockey player...

I saw very little of him in Sweden admittedly, but I just thought he was far from good enough...

Mashinter was a hockey player in that he played hockey. I've yet to see ANYTHING from him. If Beach turns out worse, we still just gave up Mashinter.

with the lack of grit and toughness on this team i dont think this was a trade for the Wolfpack since they have so much more grit and toughness. ill be shocked if Beach does not play 1 game this season. maybe he finally makes his NHL debut with the Rangers

I really liked Beach in his draft year, but it's highly unlikely he will hit his potential he had back then. He could possibly make it as a 4th line gritty kinda guy. He's a nutcase, isn't he?

In the end we traded a go-nowhere player in Mashinter for a 23 year old scrapper with some talent. It's whatever. Can only help us.

Where's TricksJews on this?

Hasn't he been suggesting aquiring Beach for over a year? Or am I remembering wrong?

You have to start somewhere. He's 23. Maybe he's at a point where he can finally begin get it and work hard....or watch all that promise slip away.

I have been saying for a couple of years, a team should pick up Beach and try him out on the 3rd/4th line. Good scrapper. A screw is loose for sure, but sometimes teams need that. Chris Neil was that way too.

If there is even a 1% chance he can become a Chris Neil lite player then this is an instant win for us.

Wanted Beach like 2 years ago and there was a value of thread for him and he sounded like hed take a massive overpayment. Hes still only 23 has/had tools and is trying to put them together at a professional level. We gave up mashinter so if he doesnt put it together its no big deal.

Hoping he could be our "goon" but bring a little more scoring than the Orr, Brashear, Boogard(R.I.P) type that Sather likes to bring in. Great fit if he can somewhat put it together, and really a very nominal price

let's hope this can work for the Rangers... maybe this can be like the John Mitchell trade where people thought he would be on the CT Whale at the time..

Mashinter was useless so this is a lateral move at worst. Our bottom six needs more hitting, fighting and energy. I wouldn't stop here if I were Sather. We need to acquire another player of this type and call up McIlrath.
