$900K is a very good number. Does he play the left side?

Kreider - Stepan - Nash
Hagelin - Brassard - Zuccarello
Stempniak - Lombardi/Miller/Lindberg - MSL
Glass - Moore - Fast/Lombardi

That looks a lot better than it did yesterday afternoon.

Yea he can play both wings. I say Nash to lw. Hagelin 3rd line w miller and stempniak 3rd line . But yea it could breakdown a few different ways

I think the Brassard line would experience a huge upgrade with Nash playing Pouliots role with better finish.

So we will have about 11.4 mill once Miller gets included in our cap, to sign 4 players.

Zucc 4 mill
Brassard 4.5 mill
Kreider 2 mill
Moore 1.1 mill

That's 11.6.

Best case scenario, too.

I like the Stempniak move. He's speedy.

Rangers are sticking with what got them so far in the post season. The added toughness on the 4th line, and more speed.

I imagine Stempniak will be on the 4th line with Moore and Glass.
Lombardi on the line with Zucc and Brass.
Miller on the line with St. Louis and Hagelin.

I imagine Mueller and Lindberg will be our next forwards up (13 and 14). Fast is now out of the picture for next year.

I thought about it. Obviously Nash is far more talented, but I think Kreider's game is the most similar to Pouliot's that we currently have. He's also an all around upgrade. I would love to see what kind of plays Brass and Zucc could use Kreider's speed to make happen.

I don't think Kreiders game and Pouliots are similar at all. Pouliot isn't a straight ahead skater and Kreider uses his size on the forecheck way more. Nash is really more similar to Pouliot than Kreider is.

Agreed. The only thing Kreider does more similarly to Poo is throw is body around and take stupid minors.

Does AV have a thing with college grads? Seems like all new signings have NCAA background. Maybe that's what it takes to figure out his system? (And why he's sceptical of JTM?)

No, Sather does... and while I was skeptical of the strategy, I bought into it 100% after Stepan, McDonagh, Hagelin and Kreider... I'm starting to get skeptical again.

Being skeptical with Miller is the only logical thing to do right now. Give him a shot, sure, but he really hasn't played well thus far.

Wait...so a prospect who opted to play in the CHL instead of college makes you skeptical of picking up college players?

Whut?

36% of NHL debutantes in the last 7 years played in the NCAA. That's a significant portion.

Either that or Sather has Jedi mind tricks.. I mean.. he makes less than glass:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Flip the 2 contracts and we're basically at par. My prediction for 2014:

Krieds Step MSL
MZA Brass Nash
Hags Miller Stemp
Glass Moore Fast
(Lombo)

Depth: Lindberg/Mueller/C Bourque

McStud DG
Staal Boyle
Allen/Hunwick Klein
(Kostko)

My wild guess is that J Moore and Kristo are trade bait either for another C that pushes out Miller or an upgrade to LD which frees up a Staal trade for a top 6 C to hedge a Brassard exit this year or next.
