I think the Rangers really consider commitment to fitness in deciding who they are going to commit years to. I was listening to Stepan on the Spittin' Chicklets podcast, his commitment to his body sounded... less than ideal. They barely talked long-term with Hayes at all.

Agreed. I remember listening to that interview and I was so fristrated. I was like banging my head off my steering wheel like cmon Step if you hit the gym you could be a star. It was frustrating. Explains why there is zero explosiveness in his game though.

Training increases free testosterone, testosterone can convert into DHT, which contributes to hair loss. Stepan says no thank you.

Marc Staal is still going to be a part of it.

Yeah and it’s on Quinn take make sure he doesn’t see the top-4. If he’s sheltered as a 6D, he can be okay in that role and you can minimize the damage he’ll cause to the team.

The point is we don’t know what the defense will be. It’s presumptuous to say we do.

I have to disagree with line 2. Kravstov Chytil Buchnevich has too much perimeter hockey, you need someone on that line to forecheck and dig pucks out of the corners for the other 2.

Put Kakko with Buch and Chytil

Put Kravtsov with Zib and Bread

Solved.

Seriously what did he say he drinks every night before a game or something? I know Lias changed his nutrition after coming over to the Rangers.

He doesn’t use the gym, he prefers to skate. And he drinks beers every night even the night before games.

Basically said how he's not much for the gym, and he begrudgingly admitted to having "a couple" beers a night, his tone suggested more. Nothing crazy, but not ideal for a professional athlete.

Not at all surprising re Stepan. You have to take a lot of countermeasures to look the way he does despite playing professional hockey every day 10 months a year.

Wow!!

Just so busy today with work that I'm literally seeing this now as I listen to Davidson and Grots talk about it.

I'm Gobbsmacked.

Not sure how we're gonna carry all these salaries.

This makes my heart melt. This has been my number all thru my hockey life. Even as a goalie. I wore it. I have a mcdonagh Jersey because kovalev wore 27. Always about the number for me . So for him to wear it would be awesome.

Kreider has to be gone. Same for one of Namestnikov or Smith, right?

I just don't know to be honest. Not sure what they are gonna do....but as Gorton just said they have a lot of work to do.

It's clear that things are just falling into place in a way that has never happened in Franchise history.

Unprecedented. Absolutely Amazing.

The Rangers are peddle to the meddle, totally going for it.

I was not for this. Thought the price tag too high.

But NOW that this done..with how they have handled things so far...just have to trust that they know what they are doing.

Holy $4!T !!!

At the draft I actually heard a few stories about stepan that kinda corroborate the...more than a couple beers statement.

Not sure if true, but a few ppl were talking about it

if gorton is truly a wizard he will use kreider & buch to land a young future 1C. fill the whole and clear the cap space in the same shot lol
Whoa. I never even thought about this. Even being a huge Buch fan, I would do this trade for the right center. Any 18-23 year old potential 1Cs that make sense? Right now, only Dach comes to mind, though I don’t know if Chicago has the cap space. Kreider + Buch + Andersson I would do for him, but I kind of doubt Chicago does even if they have space. I imagine we could even possibly get Draisaitl for those pieces. Edmonton needs quantity.
