I'm fortunate enough to live up the street. What makes it a pain? My colleagues tell me that the busses and trains are empty.
That’s probably the reason, roads are more congested than ever i think. Everyone is taking uber or driving instead of mass transit. I normally always drive in and park about a 15 min walk away from MSG.

I live on the UWS and work near Bryant Park and my neighborhood is pretty much back to normal with the amount of people on the streets. Midtown is coming back slowly. I'm excited for the Bryant Park Holiday Market.

I live in Queens and work in Hudson yards. The subway and busses (local and express) are fairly packed during rush hour but not at re-pandemic levels yet. Once most companies require people to be back at the office I think commuting will look close to normal. At the game Monday the upper level was mostly full while the lower bowl was maybe 50-60% full. Concession lines were long. I think a lot of corporate seats are going unused.

I think the days of owning season tix might be a thing of the past. So much supply out there. Fees are insane. Can get games cheaper than face few days before or day of. This may be my last year. I only attend maybe 10 games a year. May make more sense to own seasons if you attend most if not all games. I only hold on for playoff rights

All the value has been sucked out of it plus some. Even if you're in a cheaper price point, you're struggling this season and attendance in general (not just NYR but league wide) isn't that strong.

I wonder at what point do the Rangers actually consider lowering prices. I know that's a big no no for MSG but the attendance numbers and amount of empty seats along with soft demand is embarrassing. There probably won't be a sellout all season except for Henrik night. Announced attendance the other night was 13,500 which is unfathomable to me for a team with the best location for a sporting venue in the country.

Hopefully things will turn around when tourism returns.

Lack of international tourists + corporate presence is definitely a big driving factor in this but at the same time, I think we're a long ways off from being anywhere close to pre pandemic levels for either of those.

I truly wonder how many industries will require everyone to go back full time. I'm sure the big finance firms likely will but beyond that I would wager that most companies will stick with a hybrid model.

Nobody wants to pay rent for empty office space.

I also wonder how much the vax mandate is affecting attendance as well or even people who fear getting sick. I can't remember the last time they lowered prices.

Maybe but I think 85+% of adults in the city are vaccinated (presumably not much different in surrounding areas). The mandate may prompt some people to attend who otherwise wouldn't without the mandate.

Let's not even mention the condition of things in the subway. When you hear something happening there every day, people getting pushed onto the tracks, the amount of robbery and other activities happening, people are reluctant to get on the subway at this point. It needs to be cleaned up when tourists do start coming back to NYC.

Having been to a few games now, it isn't bad, but you can tell it is not ideal down there. If I hadn't been travelling to work for a while, I probably wouldn't want to get on a train. Lots of reason and hopefully new leadership at the top can clean these things up.

They say the crime stats are down and a few high profile incidents are causing bias, like the dude who robbed a bank and shot a guy with 3 straps on him the other day.

Either way, I'm always aware of my surroundings. I'm always standing against a wall or something so my backside isn't exposed and can see verything in front of me.

I think both have varying degrees of impact as lagging attendance is a league wide issue, not just exclusive to the Rangers. On top of that, I think the pandemic had a huge impact on consumer spending habits. Even ignoring the changing financial pictures for many, I think a lot of people are just reconsidering spending money on going to a game as seen by the rough crowds for the Mets and Yankees this summer (Covid at its lowest, no mandates, and outdoors as well). People will always line up to go to the big games and there will never be an issue for that but do people absolutely have to go to Rangers - Flames or is it better served for many to watch at home and save the cash?

This is the reason...vax mandate has affected attendance...once Mayor Wilhelm leaves new Mayor will remove mandate

lol, Sliwa aint winning the mayoral race.

The check to get in is kind of a joke anyway. they literally look at your vax card for half a second, so easy to fake. it would take too long to require and scan excelsior or do any really verification anyway, too much people. So im' not sure how much if any the mandates are playing a role honestly.

I want to say there was a season in the late 90's-early 00's during the 7 year playoff drought where Dolan said he'd lower the ticket prices 10% if they didn't make the playoffs that season. They didn't and he lowered the prices.

Maybe one of the other old-timers can help me confirm that. Too many years of too many beers to have that info handy.

If they catch you you'll be banned for 21 games.

This sounds right, I believe it might have been a little before the 04 lockout. Once we looked good after the lockout though they raised those prices the original 10% and then some (understandably). Lots of folks on here were flabbergasted and appalled at Dolan/ aka the Capitalistic Pig, but most said, 'well did you expect them to stay stagnant with a Jagr led playoff team?'

I think difference today is that MSG is now a public company vs in 2004. I'd be shocked if they lowered prices.

Just curious..does anyone know pricing for Suites ? can't seem to find any information at all online for that..

I asked earlier this year and was told it varies by the game, just like the season tix have tiered pricing with some higher and some lower priced. I asked about the Jan 2nd game vs Tampa, which I think is the highest price of the season, and was told $12,500 for a Lexus suite and $7,000 for a 9th floor suite that included what is noted below. Never found out what is included with catering since we decided to do something else instead of getting a suite for a game.

Lexus Level Suite (on the 7th floor)
  • fully private space, living room & buffet area and a private restroom
  • includes 18 seats total (12 theater-style, 6 bar stools) and up to 2 additional standing room-passes can be purchased.
  • Starter catering package included
Signature Level Suite (on the 9th floor)
  • fully private space
  • living room & buffet area and a private restroom
  • includes 17 seats total (12 theater-style, 5 bar stools) and up to 3 additional standing room-passes can be purchased.
  • Standard catering package included

By chance does anyone know when the Delta Club starts serving food before the games? The hot food, that is. 6:00, 6:30?

I will be sitting there tomorrow night and want to know what time to show up to get some of that grub before the puck drops.

The handful of times I've sat in the Delta club the food has been ready when the doors open 60 minutes prior to Faceoff. Usually from 6-6:15ish a lot of the players are running around down there playing soccer as well.
