So he's far and away our best PKer and our best guy for faceoffs. Good in his own zone during 5-on-5 and can get it into the offensive zone from the neutral zone. I agree, dude sucks in the offensive zone. All he can do is cycle it. But if you think he is not deserving of a roster spot here then I really have to question your sanity.

Wait, I never said he was out best Pker. He is a good Pker(on a team stacked with them) at times who struggles now and again with clears. Boyle is mediocre 5v5 in the defensive zone, especially as a center man where is immobility has him struggling getting into proper positioning. Especially with a man on man defensive system that AV employs.

You can question my sanity all you want. But given your complete lack of understanding of how much Boyle(or a player like him) is worth; people living in glass houses shouldn't throw stones..

I missed most of the game. Glad to see the win. This is a different Sabres team from what we faced. Not happy that we looked shaky, but it's difficult to win in this league. Glad Hank had a good game. That save on Richards was gorgeous.

If not for some bad luck Zuccarello would have more goals than he does... 7.9 shooting % is not indicative of his ability.

This to me was Henrik's game, he held us through the good and bad parts of it. PP looked proactive, but the defense was truly horrid at times against a Sabres team without much talent.

We need a better winger for the Brassard line than Pyatt\Pouliot, does not need to be a scorer just somebody.

I think he's been shooting less too because of it. I know he's a playmaker but I bet if he has a hot streak he'll start shooting more instead of trying to make perfect saucer passes

The whole teams has been making bad decisions all year in that regard, not just Zucc. Passing when they should shoot, shooting when they should pass.

It is why our leading scorer is on pace for like 54 points. The offense will have to improve, we have a ways to go.

Well, he needs to shoot more or at least get a little bit more comfortable shooting in the slot at the very least.

His biggest issue is that he is telegraphing a bit of his cross ice passes which are getting picked off now and again. This is really obvious on certain set zone penetration plays where Zuc will hold the puck at the half wall and try to hit the trailing D man. Thats been a little too dangerous at times.

I'm still happy to have the guy. He works his ass off and has talent. He will always struggle with those big defensive teams but he is worth a roster spot.

Hey, Richards in on pace for 62! :naughty:

lol, somehow the discussion after this game is about Boyle.

I don't have the energy...

Was so nice to be there live and watch NY win. On certain plays the D looked like nuts but then others well structured. Around the net, they looked either great or awful mostly.

Putrid game against the worst team in the league. I'm honestly baffled as to why we had to have Lundqvist steal us a win in a dead arena of the last place team in the NHL. So many defensive breakdowns against a team void of offensive talent. We are truly the definition of mediocre. Against any other team in the league we would have lost this game. Not happy at all. VERY rarely is 2 points not enough; tonight they were just terrible save for the Nash goal. If Glen doesn't shake things up we are destined to go 41-41.

I blame Stepan.

Disagree. Buffalo played a solid defensive game and our guys didn't finish a number of good chances. Even the worst team in the league wins every 3 games or so, and Buffalo has been playing better recently. A road win is a good win.

I blame Stepan.

The play Stepan made to Nash is exactly what we need him to do on a nightly basis for him to officially be considered a legitimate first line center. Baby "steps" :naughty:

Outside of that play though he was his usual physically unimpressive self

Noted.

I respect your opinion, but I couldn't disagree more. Our zone time and puck possession was terrible. Our breakouts? Terrible, save for the stretch pass on the Nash goal. Our defense in our own zone was the worst it's looked in a LONG time against a team devoid of talent. They must have out-chanced us 3 to 1. The difference is that we have Lundqvist.

And then Richards deflecting a wide shot top shelf; you can't write this stuff. I understand pucks going off skates, but he friggin deliberately tried to deflect.. you know what I can't even

Like Sather said at the press conference

"Carry us on your shoulders Hank"

Problem is that doesn't work in the playoffs and this team needs to make moves badly
