Not overly impressed with Lundkvist play either at even strength or PP (I watched both games) especially compared to Keane’s showing. NOT going to make any conclusions as this is a midsummer tournament and for whatever Lundkvist has been slotted on his offside.

On the other hand I’ve been very impressed by Keane in pretty much every aspect, except for shooting which is all about timing/sequence and could very well be due to midsummer.

“Not going to judge the bad stuff in the short tournament because it’s bad, but will judge the good stuff in the short tournament because it’s good.”

Ha, I’m sure it’s much less simple than that, but that’s how I read it.

I've seen this elsewhere online as well. Wahlstrom having a bad WJ SS doesn't mean anything, but Hughes playing great in the same tournament means he'll be a star

Nope, not going to make a far reaching conclusions on Keane either (as in writing him in NYR lineup for this or next season) but this is a continuation of reports on Keane from his last season and prospects camp. However, you have to admit that playing on his offside (I had not seen any prior reports of him playing LD) is a very big adjustment.

Same thing I stated in my other reply - Hughes’ report is a continuation of what’s been said before. Wahlstrom’s play can be impacted by various short term factors.

Yeah, one thing though, Lundkvist just turned 18 the other day. He will play in the WJSS next summer too. He also isn't the overly early developed type either.

My point is just, by far most of the guys he is facing out there is 1-1.5 years older than him.

With that said, I like Lundkvist, but I've never been blown away by him either. I think I had him 27th overall in my top 31. He is a very good young D. Very capable, he is playing for a somewhat stacked Swedish team despite being as young as he is. But like he definitely must take a big step and grow as a player before we can start to get high on him for potentially becoming a future star in the NHL.

My feeling going into the 18' draft was that there was a decline about 20-25 picks in.

Yup, his age in regard to the rest of the field is another reason why I said I was not concerned with his play. TBH, I could see a sophomore slump this season and some time in J20 league. He definitely needs to add weight and gain some strength.

Is Pajuniemi on the FIN team? Thanks in advance!! :)
He played one pretournament game and had a hat trick in the third period I think, then he was scratched the next game, and then cut with a bunch of other guys, but it seems like he’s a lock to make the WJC team (along with a bunch of the other guys cut at the same time as him) and Finland is using this tournament to figure out the rest of the roster

So you're just biased for the guy you like and are customizing your analysis based on that bias. That's like the definition of confirmation bias.

I don’t know why it is difficult to understand that it has nothing to do with biases and which one of my opinions you have a problem with, Hughes or Wahlstrom? Jack has been head and shoulders above anyone in this tournament on every shift. How’s this being a short summer tournament has an impact on his level of play? How did he manage to be in mid season form while everyone else is not?

Don’t know what you mean. I’m very happy with Kravtsov selection and I am not a “what you’ve done for me lately “ guy.

Wasn't directed at you personally. More at the fans as a whole. If Wahlstrom's bad Summer Showcase is no indication than our prospects having a few bad games shouldn't either.

Are we still litigating Andersson vs Mittelstadt?

I have tons of data n' shiet to back up my opinion, but I'm gonna keep it simple: I pick the CHAD Andersson over the virgin Mittlestadt 10/10 times.
