Looking for info on players who made their NHL debut last season. Can anyone here tell me a bit about Adam Huska, like what role he played last season, what type of player he is and what his future outlook could be? Thanks!!
Good size, decent athleticism, sometimes gets lost in the crease. In the AHL he was capable of solid if unspectacular play, the kind where he'd usually keep the team in the game, but not really ever steal one. I think his actual performance in the AHL over the past two years was better than his numbers indicate, but he wasn't anything special. He split time with Keith Kinkaid.

His NHL debut went about as poorly as possible and though he has seen extensive time on the taxi squad, it seems unlikely that he's going to have an NHL future here--or elsewhere. He's headed for free agency and will probably look to resuscitate his career with a different organization. I'd guess in a couple years he ends up back in Europe, unless something really clicks and he takes off.

I am good w Lindbom signing,
Let's see if the goalie coach hierarchy can help him be more consistent.
But also ok if they swap him

I absolutely love the signing since it would be wild if we could somehow do something with what surely seemed like a wasted pick for a few years, now.

He definitely has some talent, but injuries have been brutal and he has missed a lot of development. Really hope Allaire can work with him since the talent is there. And if not? At least we didn't COMPLETELY throw the pick away.

(if i were king) I'd bring in Henriksson, Korczak, Edstrom to be (maybe only off ice?) with team for round 2(+)
Give them a taste of the NHL they're nearing

The playoff series between Flint and Windsor begins on Saturday. All of the OHL playoff series ended early. They need to stay on schedule. They have two more playoff rounds and the OHL winner goes to the Memorial Cup.

I wont understand it if they dont sign Vierling. He has skill, is a center. He just underperformed past year. He is a guy u take a flyer on
I would take a flyer on him as well. With that said, he's had two disappointing years in the past three years with that third year being one where he didn't play at all. When I watched him this year, most nights he looked like the 3rd-4th best forward just on his own team, and really only Hunter Haight is considered a high-end guy. Maybe Jelsma.

Again, we give ELC's to less-interesting prospects all the time, so I'd give one to him. If, however, the scouts see what I see and don't think he has a couple extra gears to his game, I wouldn't be shocked to see them let him walk.

it's an interesting situation.
It does seem teams are more willing to walk away from draftees than had been typical

Situation (not the players) reminds me of Othmann's teammate Ethan Keppen,
now 21 , drafted 122 in '19, similar to Vierling's 127 in '20,
Canucks didn't sign him to ELC, signed him to AHL deal last summer
and then AHL team assigned him to Flint in January

If NYR could convince him to 'bet on himself' with an AHL deal,
if he's decent they could then do an ELC next spring
(unless he Marchesault's NYR ...)

but I'd ELC him.
Worst case, he's another Elmer, Gropp, Fontaine and drifts away

I like Keppen but he is another LW although he is a gritty power forward type so worth the risk if he wanuts to sign here. Rangers dont have many of that power forward types

love to see skilled players to drop the gloves. I miss the days when the Rangers had skilled forwards that did this.

i knew everyone got excited for this one

Yeah, he was drafted back with Gropp, Bernhardt, Zborovskiy, Kovács, Saarela, and Morrison. Crazy how not one even became a depth guy.
Shows how bad this organization is at scouting prospects of all levels all through the NHL level. Who really thought that Nemeth, Bickel, McKegg, Gauthier were NHL players 🤫. How does this management not know this. 2003 and 2010 is proof. How do you mess up 2 stacked drafts twice 🤬 we did get lucky with undrafted players Talbot, Zuccarello, Girardi, Ortmeyer (turned into a 4th liner) JAM (AHL was his first pro team before he signed his 1st NHL contract with someone) Goodrow was a Ranger at development camp on 2012.

Garand made 36 saves on 38 shots last night to earn the 5-2 win in the 1st game of their series with Seattle. Rempe had no points or shots in the game, and was 10 out of 15 on faceoffs. They play again tonight a 10 EST.

Flint (Othmann) and Windsor (Cuylle) play tonight at 7 EST, in game 1 of their series.

Flint (Othmann) beat Cuylle’s team 4-3 in game 1. Only an assist for Cuylle, nothing for Othmann.
saw a post that that Hamilton was 10-0 in playoffs, which led me to peek at Reg Season standings

in OHL playoffs, last teams still playing were top 4 overall from the season
