The reason the Oilers are in this spot in the first place is because of this line of reasoning.

Emberson
Dermott
Stecher
Podkolzin
Perry

You could literally close your eyes and pick another 4 guys off waivers to play on the same team as McDrai, make a random trade and get better results.

None of them have provided any tangible results in any way.
Since when is our bottom guys are different makers early in the season? Our top guys aside from McDavid and Drai are not producing and Stuart has been diarrhea is why we are where we are

He'll get called up by December if he can be at a point per game. I don't think the plan is to bring him along slowly, the Oilers are desperate for youth. I think they just want him to show that he's ready to some degree before inserting him in the lineup.
He won’t be called up till the deadline cause they need the cap for the deadline

I could see him replacing someone else in the lineup if some guys don't get going. Could see Podkolzin getting waived, could see Ryan going down, obviously if there are any injuries he'd be a candidate.

Does Savoie PK though? Knob seems to not want you in the bottom 6 unless your name is Perry or can PK.

Just like i called it. It would take him to January - Feb to get comfortable with the pro game, than look out. Ideally he should stay in the A until March to really start to dominate, but if they want to give him a look, he might still lool a little raw. Hope he lights it up though.

He has been ppg in the AHL since the rough start and from everything I've read, has been adjusting well to a pro style game. Hopefully he can be a solid middle six scoring winger option for us and allow us to focus on defense and goaltending at the deadline.

He is a young, talented prospect who by all accounts works hard and has focused on what they asked him to focus on. He has played in all situations down there and even developed a bit of a rep as a good PKer too, quite unusual for a draft pick with his offensive pedigree. Quick and fast as a skater, he will get an opportunity alongside Draisaitl in the top 6. If there was ever a time to seize the opportunity, it's now. Hope he knocks it out and solidifies himself there, though perhaps like Philp he might not quite be ready but we'll see.

I really don't think we can trade him. I know a lot of people love him but view him as top tier trade chip to get what we really need.

The team needs the young blood, not just to build for the future but to win in the short term too. He can be what we really need

I agree.

This team also needs cheap contracts which can produce.

He may very well be one of the key needs. A guy who can contribute on a very cheap deal for the next two years has great value.

Great game by Savoie. Let's see if he can keep it up or if he was playing on adrenaline.

Kane, top 6 add, Savoie might be enough to save this garbage offence.
