Flint won game 5 yesterday afternoon. 5-1. Othmann had the GWG. Flint leads the series 3-2.
Game 6 on Tuesday. Game 7 on Thursday if necessary.
and in the other pending series,
Vierling's Barrie trails 2-3,
they play tonight(Monday) then hopefully Wednesday in 7th game
Post automatically merged:

so interestingly we got OT winners from Rempe, Grubbe and Vierling,
need Othmann, Cuylle and Korczak to keep pace

That Grubbe pick still annoys me, I hated last years draft 🤣 Sure we're only talking about a high 3rd which usually turns to nothing, but seemed like a complete throwaway of a pick. Multiple guys who were projected possible firsts, Pastujov, Robertsson, Martino all still available and we go way off the board for a grit guy with a f***ed up knee 🤣 Rooting for the dude now but was such a big fat "why?" pick

We have a WTF pick in every draft, usually a second round goalie.

Not me. Loved this pick. I believe he will carve out a career in the NHL as a third or fourth line Center.
Think Joel Otto. :thumbu:

Othmann scored the 3rd goal on a delayed PP (and took a penalty).
Flint won game 7 4-2
So only Boyko, Vierling out
Othmann, Cuylle move on in O
Korczak, Garand, Grubbe, Rempe in W

I haven't looked at brackets whether any go head-to-head in 2nd rounds

No H2H for any of them.

here again are aggregated playoff schedules,
for 2nd round, for the kids in Canadian Major Junior - as .xlsx, PDF and .csv
6 prospects, 6 series
I make this for me, glad to share

a couple anomalies at the WHL side
- Seattle(Rempe) is 'road' team vs Portland, but will host games 1,4,6
- They have NOT set a date for a 'if needed' game 7 between Red Deer(Grubbe) and Edmonton

You say off the board pick and a big fat why pick but he was ranked as a 3rd round pick and the Rangers took him in the 3rd round. The Rangers love what he brings to the table and knew that he wouldn't be there at 80 when they picked again. We have scorers, what we needed were players like Grubbe to fill out the roster and make it tough on the other team. Jayden checks all those boxes and brings a boatload of intangibles through his leadership. Everything you need to know about Grubbe is summed up in the fact as a 17 year old he was named the Captain of a Brent Sutter coached team. That does not happen everyday.
