Robertson just a few days from turning 20. You go back and read the scouting reports and watch the available game footage of his play and it really feels like the guy only wasn't a first round pick because his ceiling isn't a star defenseman.

If he and Schneider become a pairing in Hartford next season, that's a combination of players I think could end up clicking pretty well with chemistry.

Reunanen up with the big boys?

Robertson has also been slotting in at RD to start the year for Edmonton, so I wonder if they're trying to use this chance to get him more involved in the offense. I don't expect his offensive game to translate to higher levels, but I do think he'll be in the same vein as a Lindgren as one of those support guys that makes the plays to help stabilize a pairing.

Assuming this year doesn't turn around, I'd love to nab Guenther, Robertson's Edmonton teammate, in this draft (assuming we keep the pick)

Technically he could, but I like that he's playing top pair minutes 3 times a week rather than bottom pair minutes once a week.
But I feel like Hartford’s D is so shallow. I didnt think it was that deep when Schneider was there and now he is gone. Feel like it couldnt hurt to promote him.

It might not be worth the trouble with the OHL rumoured to return to play soon. London Knights hinted at that, which is Skinner's team

I can't keep up with all of our D prospects.

I think they are working on the @nyr2k2 bot to update the script for fetching Henriksson’s stats. It’s reported zero on goals, assists and points for like a year now. Henriksson is a quite common name in Sweden, sure it’s just a id conflict.

This week is just weird. Barely any SHL games at all. Lundkvist hasn't played in a week for instance

bumped and posted at Sjalin thread, citing here, above the fold, too
seems his rights likely to expire (in June'21) without signing w NYR:
"It feels good to stay at least two more seasons in Leksands IF. That was what I wanted for this season, so it's fun that it turned out that way in the end. It feels like we have something very good going on here, and I want to continue to be a part of it. It will be exciting to see where the future takes us."
Själin förlänger
Leksands IF has agreed with defender Calle Själin on a new two-year contract. This means that the new contract extends over the 2022/2023 season.

Rangers need to sign these guys to AHL contracts and not cave in to the NHL contracts especially when these types have no NHL future.
There's often competition over these guys and multiple teams offer them NHL deals, so AHL deals won't cut it. Obviously they think they can become NHL players or at least useful depth, which is why they give them the deal. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.

If only it was that simple. When they sign them, they see potential. The player not hitting his potential doesn't change that.
Yup. And sometimes it works out. But for every Neal Pionk, you have twenty John Gilmour's. For every Talbot or Georgiev, there are twenty Matt Zaba and Miika Wiikman's. That's why there are 50 contract spots, though. You can take some gambles.

And they have 45 slots still available so it's not like having Elmer under contract is hindering us
