"...I know the Rangers staff have Day on their sh*tlist for a reason beyond actually watching him play. )

did we ever get let in on this tease of inside info?
c.mon TWT "share what we got of yours 'Cause we done shared all of mine"

RIP Hunter

Lundkvist finished with a secondary assist, was +1, 4 PIM, and had 2 SOG (24:11 TOI). So he's now at 0-4-4 in 5 GP, +3 with 8 PIM and 7 SOG. 23:10 TOI, up from 12:43 last season.

In 11:27, Edstrom had 2 PIM.

Ragnarsson sat out again. Still hasn't played this year.

He’s been shooting a lot more in preseason. Needs to get that stat up, especially as a first pair RD. Do you know his. PP min/game so far?

Unfortunately I do not. I haven't seen anything with detailed TOI breakdowns for any of the European leagues.

Yikes.

Back to being a bust.
If MODO could shoot the puck a little better, they could’ve potted 12.

1st 2 goals against, Lindbom had no chance. A double redirect then a blown coverage for a 2 on none. Then the ice tilted towards him.

37 shots, 3/4 of them high quality chances. The 4th one had Berglund jump down the slot for a poke shot, Lindbom was slow getting over as the passer was below the goal and only Berglund was on the other side of the ice. Bad read of the ice.

Just before the 5th goal, MODO has a gilt edged chance where Lindbom made the save because the forward shot it into his glove(which was still a late reaction, but hey.)

5th goal(? So many to keep track of and no notepad) the D got undressed, Lindbom had a shot at a poke check, didn’t take it, got stretched across the mouth for an easy goal.

6th was a redirect from distance, had problems tracking with a screen in front of him, guessed wrong.

7th was a sick couple of moves by the D jumping in(Norlinder?) then beat Lindbom soft backhand to the glove side high, that’s one he might want back.

Any time the MODO D jumped in, the defensive shape of Mora turned into a pear.

It’s about process, not results and I was more impressed by Lindbom in this shellacking than his last few shutouts where he barely had to work. Still a ton of things to work on, but you got to see how he handled things when he got assaulted.

And I mean assaulted.

He’s 1st pair unless he was on the ice when the penalty was called. Just count up the PP chances and give him 1:15 per.

both righty so thinking its more likely that skinner will lose playing time...hopefully not

London only has 2 lefties, so there’s going to be either a lot of rotation to the off hand for these guys, or maybe they get progressive and put Merkley on his off hand as 1st LD with Regula. If you’re looking to generate offence and get him defensive help, it’s probably a good idea to go that way considering roster construction.

Pajuniemi again was listed on the top line. He scored his second goal (PP), had 3 shots, and played 14:24. His team lost to Poleaxe, 7-2.

In a bit of a surprise (to me, anyway), Lindbom got the start again today. He has stopped 9/10 shots thus far. His team must really like him--it sounded as if initially the plan was to have him and Wallin split time.

Second goal was perfectly placed, I don't know anyone that would stop that. First goal was a breakaway that went five-hole. He ended up stopping 33/35. He was the only reason Mora (who looks like ****) was in that game.
In the VH he would’ve been higher up the post and could’ve had a chance just by extending.

Ok, I guess I don't necessarily disagree, it's just that every style has advantages and disadvantages. Whether it was everyone playing the stand-up and then it morphing into the butterfly and hybrid, guys playing deep or aggressive, or guys playing VH or RVH now, it's always a give and take. Better against certain shots at the expense of other shots. Etc.

Mora had no budget, was a miracle they stayed up as long as they did.

Lindbom should keep them from Kvalserien, but that team is super brittle. They control play for big stretches of time, but once a wheel falls off, the rest quickly follow.

VH for play behind the net is the way to go, but it’s just super hard on the hips, leading to shorter careers(which will suppress their draft value even further.)

For me, Lindbom as a butterfly just seems like a bunch of meh: too slow moving off the post, slow reactions, overcommits to make up for that. He never has looked like he’ll steal a game, his draft year in J20 he was just a guy.

I’ll probably watch him once a month from now on to see if there’s progression, but I’d rather spend my time on draft eligibles and prospects closer to offering deadline.
