We got rid of the right coach and hired the wrong one.

Imagine if torts could get Zuc and Kreids to play like they are now?

You gotta be kidding if you really believe that Tortorella is the answer. I mean no disrespect, but that is nuts.

You said it well. It's all pretend.

A Getzlaf, a Perry, a Kesler, a Brent Burns, would just look like a monster on this team. There is absolutely no player even remotely comparable.
Hey Sather, remember the Oilers? Skill and Size.

Not sure but I think we picked Montoya and jessiman over getslaf and Parise. For that, a Slats gets a $5 mio annual lifetime pact from Dolan. Unbelievable

Missed 2nd period on. How did Cally look? How was Hank, first 2 goals he was left for dead.

MSG Network is seriously obsessed with this guy. Bill Pidto with his stupid pronunciation of his name that makes me want to take my eardrums out with a spoon, interviewing him between periods. It's so bizarre.

I can't get over how bad Nash looks. He isn't bending his legs like he used to in order to drive and use his quads and glutes fully. Either he has bad knees or hips. Something is up.

I thought the same but now more than half way thru the season, I think these guys were more disciplined under torts. They don't seem to fear AV. They play lazy. I hated torts system but these guys have shown no talents to play regular hockey and win. At least so far.

Hes reaching really bad for pucks too. Not moving his feet at all

The Pidto pronunciation is hilarious and terrible. Gotta find it on YouTube somewhere..

This guy just continues to torch us though

Pidto is not funny. At all.

It's fine that Kreider and Zuc are playing well but when you have to depend on them against the Crosbys, Kanes, Ovechkins, Kopitars, etc. of the league..c'mon, not even close.

They're good players but complimentary pieces.

I'm starting to feel the same way about Nash as I did about Nedved, I can't stand when he's on the ice because if he's not scoring, he can't play defense. Seriously, the guy is damaged goods and that contract makes him untradeble.

I think he's been overrated since his 1st Rangers game. I never saw strong skating...he's always been way to soft and goes down easy when someone muscles him a little. I don't know why but when we first got him, I was excited...All the highlights and stuff made him look like he had moves like Jagr. I thought he would be a bull driving to the net and impossible to get the puck away from. In reality he's just weak and floppy

Nash and Jagr shouldn't ever be in the same sentence.

Hmm. Nash used to make some great moves, he would use his reach and his range to totally suck defenders in. And he did it successfully quite often, and it was completely thrilling to watch. Not many players could do what Nash did not that long ago.
He did that last season. I think it is fair to say that we have not seen that in some time.

Edit: I'm not comparing Nash to Jagr, but at the same time, Nash today is not Nash of last year's regular season

In order for Nash to be able to do that, he needs to be 1 on 1 with a defender. Because of a huge lack of speed at C he has no room to make a move on the first defender without getting picked off by the 2nd defender (mind you I'm referring to play off the rush). Him and Stepan do not mesh whatsoever. He needs a guy that will create just a small extra amount of space for him. Stepan is too slow and defenders don't need to respect his shot, which means they know he's looking to pass to Nash (which leads to Nash being covered more tightly)

I like the way Zucc is playing, but do you guys see the pattern here? Many Rangers players play great the year before the contract expires. Then it is back to the old play.

A lot of us were excited by the Nash trade and thought Pyatt could replace Dubi. I was too. I thought with that trade and Lindberg/Fast/Miller, this team was gonna contend.

It hasn't worked out, it's over. Time to start all over again.

The good news is the system is much better than 03-04.

There's the Swedes and Kristo who are playing well in the AHL, and you have Duc/Buch/Nieves who all have real potential.

It's a start.

Do the right thing and realize it's time to build with a new core.
