Even if the team sucks Hank is paid to bail them out on some goals. He was out of position on 2-3 goals today and without those goals against the team could've gotten points.

So we can blame Hank for that...
How about the lack of goals for Nash, Brassard, Richards, and Stepan?
How about the 0-3 on the PP?
Richards had 5 out of 6 mins of PP time

So we can point at Hank and say he's terrible blah blah blah like you normally do, or you can look at the fact that even when Holtby has a 3.00 GAA and Hank has a 2.70 GAA Holtby has more wins in less starts.

Why?

Washington scores 2.85 GF/G
Rangers score 2.27 GF/G

While I will agree that Hank is having an off year... all the blame cannot be put on Hank... Gotta look at the fact that the people that are supposed to be scoring aren't scoring.

Dorsett and Cally are gonna end up broken trying to make-up for the rest of the teams lack of emotional/physical play. They are both small guys. I hope Cally gets dealt someplace else, for his sake.

This team needs to deal with Team Toughness before the Trading deadline. If you have no toughness beside Zuc and Cally, now that Dorsett is out, what do you think you could do in the playoffs. If you make the playoffs.

This is a concept that seems to be lost on most of our skill players. Nash and Richards barely compete out there. Players should be working their butts off no matter how much talent they have (or think they have).

A hockey team simply has to be able to hand out punishment. I am not even remotely talking about fighting. Pushback is something you have to have at all times, yet the Rangers treat it as an option, an elective they can not bother with.
Pride in your play...I see that from some Rangers, but not nearly enought to tip the scales into a real team thing. And if they are not capable of playing with that level, get the **** rid of them when possible.

Agreed. With Nash and Richards you don't even get a hint of a pulse sometimes, the way they play. I'd love it if one of those guys got a little ornery(sp?) like Crosby did with McD. It shows you've got heart and desire to win to go with the talent given to you.

I read Barry Melrose's autobiography recently, and he says guys like these to sell out for the life of NYC. I think he's right. (The book was a gift and I never thought I'd read it, let alone find something with a hint of truth in it.)

I think there is truth in that. But I also think these guys figure the team has no shot so why kill yourself. If we as fans can sense the ineptitude of the organization from the top down, don't you think THEY can too?

Once they have a contract it's easy to go into "wait and see" mode. And what they are seeing is BAD management. I'll bet if someone came in with a real vision, you'd see guys like Richards play with a whole new level of enthusiasm

I don't think this team has playoff potential right now, at all. It's not fair for Zuc who's a built like a mini-bulldozer and Cally (who's not built to withstand being his team's #1 guy with grit), to have to sacrifice their bodies, when effort and talent wise the Rangers don't have it this year.

I'd even tell Cally to ease up if the Rangers actually want to sign him long term, tell him this isn't our year, but that they'll make changes in the off season to get tougher next year.

The only thing I'm hoping for is this team keeps sucking and PRAY Sather comes to his senses at the deadline and sells.

Please god no more Nik Antropov and Derek Morris type deadline acquisitions, followed by a late season surge into the playoffs lead by the likes of Derick "Erik Christensen" Brassard right into another 1st round exit.

"Broadway" Brad Richards---this nickname speaks volumes, as to what his priorities are. IMO. I wonder who else has given up on winning.

Team's not built well. Many risks taken in the offseason, the lack of size and skill is showing.

They'll be battling for a playoff spot maybe. That's it.

I've about had enough of Nash and Richards. Nash is damaged goods and Richards yes he's in shape but he's just not that good anymore.

That's all I got.

Would love to see Nash and Richards gone. It's just a dream. The coach never mentioned the Nash hook and the loss of one of the players who really cares. Big contracts get big favor. Nash just said he thinks the team plays hard but we have to clean things up.:laugh::laugh:

You said it well. It's all pretend.

A Getzlaf, a Perry, a Kesler, a Brent Burns, would just look like a monster on this team. There is absolutely no player even remotely comparable.
Hey Sather, remember the Oilers? Skill and Size.

Wait...Richards still plays for us?

I seriously don't remember him on the ice today. No joke.

He's the guy who gets rewarded by playing on the power play. He the guy who takes shots for the sake of shooting. hoping something will go in, regardless if no ones in front of the net, or theirs 4 opponents in front.

The players on the roster are not the problem. That's justa distraction from the real problem.

Good and even great talents on this team see a dysfunctional organization and it saps the motivation from them.

Who wants to be "the one" to take that on and break the all the bad habits and truly lead. Messier was generational player. They just don't come along that often.
