Hmm. Nash used to make some great moves, he would use his reach and his range to totally suck defenders in. And he did it successfully quite often, and it was completely thrilling to watch. Not many players could do what Nash did not that long ago.
He did that last season. I think it is fair to say that we have not seen that in some time.

Edit: I'm not comparing Nash to Jagr, but at the same time, Nash today is not Nash of last year's regular season

I thought he was weak last year, but gave him slack for being new w/ a short season. He didn't overly impress me with his puck possession. When he dangled last year, he was easy to knock down 9 out of 10 times, with just a little contact. He's not strong on his skates. I kind of wish I'd watched him play with the Jackets to be able to compare his game then and now. Is he a stronger skater who can legit pull off these moves more than once in a blue moon, or not?

I like the way Zucc is playing, but do you guys see the pattern here? Many Rangers players play great the year before the contract expires. Then it is back to the old play.

Nah, he took less money to play here to begin with. He's all effort. Hard to look at him cynically at this point.

A lot of us were excited by the Nash trade and thought Pyatt could replace Dubi. I was too. I thought with that trade and Lindberg/Fast/Miller, this team was gonna contend.

It hasn't worked out, it's over. Time to start all over again.

The good news is the system is much better than 03-04.

There's the Swedes and Kristo who are playing well in the AHL, and you have Duc/Buch/Nieves who all have real potential.

It's a start.

Do the right thing and realize it's time to build with a new core.

Agree with everything you said. Only problem is that Duc/Buch/Nieves all have real potential to be 2nd and 3rd liners. This team needs gamebreaking talent and has for a while. I hate to bring it up, but who knows where this team would be had Cherepanov panned out as projected (RIP)

In order for Nash to be able to do that, he needs to be 1 on 1 with a defender. Because of a huge lack of speed at C he has no room to make a move on the first defender without getting picked off by the 2nd defender (mind you I'm referring to play off the rush). Him and Stepan do not mesh whatsoever. He needs a guy that will create just a small extra amount of space for him. Stepan is too slow and defenders don't need to respect his shot, which means they know he's looking to pass to Nash (which leads to Nash being covered more tightly)

Maybe you have missed all the times lately where Nash was one on one and these 5'10 defenders stoned him without issue

The funny thing is that this team can get better by subtraction.

1) Trade Hank
2) Trade Cally
3) Trade Staal
4) Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiire Sather already.

I do agree. The Rangers have not made it easier for him.
Still, something else is wrong, perhaps related to the concussion, who knows.
Stepan has really puzzled me. I always considered him to be a hard worker, but this season he has left me cold. I would like to believe he can get it back, but he is not showing much.

Wait....Is this serious?
1)You just signed Hank to a 7 year extension.
2) Cally is your captain and hardest worker though his injuries are becoming ridiculous from his style of play.
3) Staal and McDonagh are the future of our defense. Trading Staal wouldn't benefit anything because it would completely destroy any chance of defensive depth.

Hank's NMC hasent kicked in yet.
Cally is always broken and not the hardest worker lately
Staal is not the future of anything. Too many injuries, his play just isnt the same

Wait..u expect to get something for nothing? Why would teams take our overpaid garbage like Nash and richie?

You're not trading Nash. They wouldn't even attempt too and Richie seems like the same thing. You don't need to trade either. They're not the problem . Other ways to fix depth besides trading everybody hate to break it to you

Only chance we have to get out of mediocrity. Use amnesty on Richie too. May suck for a while but hopefully we come out of it like the hawks and the Bs. Otherwise, us, leafs and the Habs will be playoff teasers for life.

Funny effort. That's all I can call it.

I'm in full blown blow it up mode.

Blow it the **** up.

Cally isn't the hardest worker lately because hasn't played. Give him a couple days and people will be raving about his hard work again. So Staal leaving wouldn't bother you at all? The guy is a smart defenseman. Yes the injuries have been a problem but the worst of the injuries was a freak accident. End of the year if he misses games a couple of more times than i'll agree with you

Cally is more likely to be hurt again in a couple days than he is impressing everyone with hard work.

Staal already upsets me, because his career is derailed.

I said it before, but if they have a chance to move him they should.

I feel the same about every player with multiple concussions, including Nash

"every player with multiple concussions" So a bigger than you think majority of the players in the NHL aren't meaningful for their team because of concussions. Concussions can happen at any time all it takes is a cheap hit. How could you build an organization around that?

Multiple concussions. Not one.

And yes, I absolutely would avoid anyone with multiple concussions.

Wouldnt want those risks on a team I was building

I'm not a huge fan of MDZ, but scratching him while many on the team are entitled for the same, is just laughable. Is he really the problem?

McDonagh is on pace for over almost 47 points (according to my calculations, I know NHL.com somehow has lower numbers). Imagine if the team could do anything 5 on 5. On the Blackhawks you're looking at a 55 point D-man easily. Maybe even 60.

Might have some trouble making a team if you're going down a list looking at the # of concussions players have.

Doubt it. Looking at the rangers, as far as I know the only ones with multiple concussions are Staal and Nash. Probably Dorsett and Boyle from the fighting.

Can I get an honest answer?

If things don't get immediately better with a trade will this board be as insufferable as it is for the duration?

I have read innumerable posts with nothing more to say than "blow it up" or "they all suck". I don't take pleasure in that. Why the eff do you?

This board will be insufferable, fickle, and miserable no matter what happens. It's the way it is.

4 seasons in 25 years (someone else mentioned) to write home about is why, if you were wondering.
