Post-Game Talk: Rangers @ Penguins 3/16/13 - Manbearpig Strikes Again

We clearly have the least intimidating team in the NHL...

You nailed it right there. I watched Bostons game and they fed off the body checks of Horton and Lucic and the whole team just played far more intense than they have in quite a few games. The Rangers truly need to become a more physical team.

At this point I'd trade McDonagh to Edmonton for their first. All the elite offensive talent these days comes from the draft. The only ones that hit free agency are the ones that are soft and inconsistent. Name an elite offensive talent, and 95% he's playing for the team that drafted him. I'm sick of not scoring and I'm sick of this team not drafting elite forwards. Who's the last elite forward we drafted, Andy ****ing Bathgate?

You would trade McDonagh for a draft pick??? Wow, new high in assinine posting.

I agree. I'd hate to see a Staal or McDonagh go, but we need to draft a legit young superstar in the top 3. End of the story. It's what we've lacked for as long as we can all remember. Bringing in guys like Gomez, Drury, Redden, Richards, Gaborik, Nash and even going back, Lindros, Bure, Gretzky, etc. all at 27 years or older is not the solution. In the case of Nash or Gabby in years past, it can be a SUPPLEMENT to the solution. The other drafting (Cally, Lundqvist, Stepan in the second, Hagelin, etc.) has been good to create a supporting cast. A guy like Nash could be a great supplement. We need to draft our own stud forward.

Dave Maloney calling it like it is. You don't grind for every chance. SOFT COVERAGE. No offense, no ability to make passes. Look how hard it is to create chances.

Its time someone is traded or fired...Mike Sullivan needs to get the can ASAP. or get Torts out. This team is not reacting at all

Well, I guess I am talking about the product on the ice. 20 minutes of good, 20 minutes of horrid, 20 minutes of in between.

I usually enter every game optimistic, see how it goes.

They gave us a little preview of everything.

Everything but a win that is. :(

Then trade him for a player with superstar potential not a draft pick!!

For those of you wanting torts fired (and I find myself leaning that way), who do you want to replace him?

Tortorella's biggest problem is that he has no idea how to instill fluidity in his team's game plan. They can't change their system, they can't adapt to situations. Tortorella isn't teaching his team how to change their play to counter the other team. They play the same stupid system every single game, no matter what the other team is doing to beat it.

He's talking about the 1st/2nd overall pick and trading from a position of strength (left handed d-men) in order to acquire a sure-fire, cost controlled stud forward like we haven't had in far, far too long.

Sather needs to grab the reigns before the team completely loses it. Get rid of Torts, who doesn't know what it looks like to draw a play for offense and is afraid of using the middle of the ice instead of the boards.

If Torts were to get canned, will it happen the next day or can it still happen later today?

Whose available?

Are we getting Seguin? Huberdeau? Galchenyuk?

I don't know. Maybe. Drafting our own is the same difference. The point is that we need a stud forward that hasn't been an all-star in the league for 10 years before coming to us. We need to draft our own stud or acquire one who is still extremely young and cost controlled.
