I have a personal problem with Hunt haters

he's the hardest working F on the team, a great forechecker, physical, defensively sound, and (somehow lol) has 15 points this year. what is your deal with him? he's exactly what we wanted in a player like him.

He is exactly what you want on your bottom line as playoff contender. Not as the RW opposite your 11 million dollar LW. Rooney and Kaako come back, that pushes McKegg and Brod out and Hunt to the 4th. Makes the team much better.

I was told it was inevitable they would lose today and tomorrow. Ignoring that we already beat most of that team healthy 4-0 in NY, I'll ignore the other game that Vasilevskiy didn't play in.

@CasusBelli
It's crazy we have to fly to Carolina and play the Canes at 6 pm after this 8 pm start. The NHL doesn't give a damn about the players. All they care about is TV revenue. Are they soon gonna have doubleheaders like in baseball?

I couldn't agree more. Just wish he would convert more on those golden opportunities. He's definitely a candidate for the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award.

We have had 10-15 back to backs this year with lots of travel. The scheduling this year has been total ass.

"Somehow" has 15 points? Yea he is playing on a line with one of the best wingers in the league for half the season, that's how he "somehow" got those points.

Nobody has a problem with him if he is playing on the 4th line, he is a 4th line player, nothing more.

Shesty gets 28/29 and the one was somewhat BS. It’s become so expected we are out here giving praise for “not terrible” games from Chytil and Hunt

They didn't credit Reavo with one hit this game? That doesn't seem right. Did they mistakenly give them to K'Andre? 4 more hits for Miller tonight. That's 10 hits in his last 3 games, when he's been averaging only 1.5 hits per game this year.

Did he get himself a pair of big boy pants? Better late than never. LOL!

He can honestly whiff on many passes as he likes,... as long as he continues to lay out players like he has the past few games. I was so waiting for him to turn this corner.

I would so love to see Shesty in net tomorrow. Will he never play back to back games? The King did it all the time.

Missed the game but watched the extended highlights just now having avoided spoilers (TV, radio, social media).

How much controversy was there over the Trouba goal…..?

The ESPN broadcasters were all of the opinion it was clearly a good goal.

My friend told me he was listening to the game on the radio and Dave Maloney and Kenny Albert were convinced it was getting called back.

So pretty much normal goalie interference controversy.

Didn't seem like it was that close to me. Surprised at Dave and Kenny.

Hell of a win, fellas! That was a hard-fought game. And kudos to our fans down in Tampa Bay. They made it seem like a home game.

I love our fanbase. The largest in the United States and can make any away game feel like a home game.
Funny you mention this. Cause last game when the Isles scored late, I could have sworn we were playing in the Coliseum it got so loud. I don't remember seeing that before at the Garden. Musta have been a lot of drunken Irish fans at the game that didn't know who they were cheering for. LOL!

That's embarrassing if true. WTF? Smaller fan base and a team that's not in the playoffs this year.

Another solid game from both Panarin and Fox. Mika was flying all night. I really like Vatrano, I feel like he's going to score some big goals for us. that 3rd line had a really good night, they're an effective group when they're forechecking like that. K'Andre was very good tonight and I said in the GDT how he's coming into his own physically and getting more comfortable throwing his body around - he's going to be a scary player if he ever fully unlocks that potential he has to be a dominant physical force. Igor was great again obviously.

Shout out to Gallant for putting PP1 back out there.
Great post. Couldn't agree more.

K'Andre Miller is having his Ryan McDonagh like 2nd season. It was the year you could tell that this guy was going to lock up the best players in the league for years to come.

The sky is the limit. He is learning he is bigger, faster, and stronger than 99.9% of the league. His confidence is growing.

Miller is the outright most important player for this team on defense. Fox is going to be Fox. Trouba is consistent. Lindgren besides his recent poor play is also consistent. Miller is the 🔑 (pun fully intended).

When this team is an outright contender it will because Miller took another step and is an impact player shift in and shift out. He was a huge gamble based on his recent shift to defense. It's amazing where he is and what he could be.

Have to agree on Strome. Great analysis all around but you nailed it there especially. I have defended him the entire season, however his inability to carry pucks through the neutral zone is a big issue. Teams are really pressing down on Panarin and forcing him to move pucks east west, not allowing him to curl and gather speed. I think it might be a physical issue as well but if you go back a couple years Panarin would routinely carry the puck into the zone. That's not happening as much this season and the onus is on Strome to be that guy but he can't handle the responsibility so there are a lot more dump-ins/hard rims than there used to be. I like Strome but I think they should move on from him after the season. Right now there's no other options unfortunately.

Strome is the weak link on the team. They need a better player at 2C and on PP1. Strome’s effort isn’t in question imo, but he doesn’t have the second gear in games like this. I wanted to scream into the night when he put a pass into Vatrano’s skates when he was wide open in front

They remember the era when farting into the blue area was considered interference. Hunt had a foot in there so I suppose it could have come back but really - spiritually - that was a good goal. I also had no major issue with the Tampa goal. Both were questionable and correctly ruled ‘good’, I’d say.

Chytil has been great the last 3-4 games. Using his size and playing physical. I think he forgets he’s 6’3 200 sometimes. The points will come
Buchnevich went through this too. There was a point about three seasons ago when he started to knock opponents over. He seemed surprised it was so easy. I think Chytil could do similar. I don’t see the offensive upside with Chytil but if he grinds consistently he could be a Goodrow type Swiss Army knife thirdliner.

I have been as hard on Chytil as anyone but if he can turn into a 3rd line physical, forechecking center it would do wonders for this team, especially considering he’s got 2 more years of control. I am happy he’s shutting me up

Quite honestly there's something about the way he plays that intrigues me, almost like a lite-version of Jagr for lower body strength, long range, and unsuspecting footspeed. He's a kid I'd rather have stick around.

Last season after that Maroon hit on Shesty. We wouldn’t have responded in any way.
The canes game is going to be a test.
