It's crazy we have to fly to Carolina and play the Canes at 6 pm after this 8 pm start. The NHL doesn't give a damn about the players. All they care about is TV revenue. Are they soon gonna have doubleheaders like in baseball?
Also whenever it's mentioned how the Piles had to play first 13 on the road, I remember that NYR hadn't have their venue rebuilt or anything yet out of the starting 12 played only 3 at home, and out of those only 2 consequently. Thus we've been on the road almost as much as they had at that stretch.

Buchnevich went through this too. There was a point about three seasons ago when he started to knock opponents over. He seemed surprised it was so easy. I think Chytil could do similar. I don’t see the offensive upside with Chytil but if he grinds consistently he could be a Goodrow type Swiss Army knife thirdliner.
I for one still hope he can produce on the 2C level and generally be good to take that spot. I mean Stromer has been so poor, stick Chyt in his place and I'm almost convinced he'd fare at least as good now.
It's just their playing (and PP) time (and partner(s)) are so far off it's hard to compare purely by the numbers alone.

We have had 10-15 back to backs this year with lots of travel. The scheduling this year has been total ass.
guess the hangover from the stupid COVID postponements plays a role here.
Over across the pond, Arsenal in the EPL have been playing like once in two weeks not long ago and now have had 3 in 7 including vs the top dogs. They even have a game in hand on most of the nearest competition.

I have no idea what this chart represents, but Hunt did have a great game. He was all over the ice and was very noticeable every shift. I game him a star of the game along with Shesty the Great and Zee-gotta-bad-shot.
Hunt's best play was not falling all over their goalie on Trouba's goal. That could have easily been GI, but he was al around him without pushing him.

I have a personal problem with Hunt haters

he's the hardest working F on the team, a great forechecker, physical, defensively sound, and (somehow lol) has 15 points this year. what is your deal with him? he's exactly what we wanted in a player like him.
He shouldn't be on the second line but he is part of the solution on this team as a 3rd/4th liner so the hate is a bit much sometimes imo.

Chytil has been really good since getting back in the lineup. And some people want to ship him out of here because he's not Jagr 2.0 If he's healthy next year, he will easily hit 40 points.
I think he's capable of way more than that.
No shocker, but he was the whipping boy on this board for most of the season. I never really understand when a young guy, still developing, gets hammered. It's obvious that he has many physical tools to be, at minimum, a 2C. If his brain catches up, he could be even better.
Now, if people are switching whipping boy status to Strome, it is well deserved. Strome is a finished product. I don't care if he had a short span of success last year without Panarin, he isn't the answer at 2C. This organization can't pay that guy what he is proposed to be asking. That would be tragic.

Chytil is still a winger at this point. He has put together 3-4 responsible full games recently. Let’s pump the breaks on going after his critics expecting some come to Jesus moment. He has been very underwhelming all year in his 4th year. Is he young? Sure. He is “young”. But again this is his 4th year. Let’s see if he can keep this up for 30 games. 50 games. A full season. Glad he has at least a positive impact player the last week or so.

I just watched the game this morning (had a date night last night with the wife instead of watching it live).

I screamed so loud on the Zibanejad goal, I'm pretty sure my neighbors are going to give me dirty looks. I f***ing love Zib's game last night. So many amazing defensive plays all night. Then he's rewarded by absolutely ripping a one-timer for a game winner.

By the way, both goals squeezed through Vasi's right armpit tonight. Just something I noticed.

Shesterkin was fantastic as usual. And our third line finally, FINALLY, played with some grade-A-jam. I loved them all game.

I would have loved to score 2-3 PP goals, but a win is a win. This team continues to persevere and believe.

Chytil was instrumental in so many takeaways from TB possession in the game. He was everywhere.
Johnny Bro certainly makes the line so much better. They had a great game last night.

Also Lindgren had his best game in weeks. In my opinion he was one of the most noticeable players last night and not in the Nemeth way. And this was before the fight.

Did anyone see the reason Reavo got a mark during the fight? It wasnt from Maroons fists it was from his visors when they bear hugged at the end. I thought you’re supposed to get a extra two for wearing it?

Chytil has been incredibly responsible with and away from the puck. He's been increasingly a straight-line player who's focused on possession, working the puck to the point and things like that for pucks-on-net types of plays. He's not trying to dangle defenders and turning the puck over.

everyone saying "well hunt shouldn't be in the top 6!!11!!!" ur right but take it up with Drury and not me

I liked Chytil seemingly looking better instead of "in between"
Reaves looked bored during that fight
Panarin made a voluptuous pass, but wonder why lately he hasn't seemed himself.
I thought we played a good game overall. The first period was a bit of a letdown but they cleaned it up a lot. I wonder where this was the last few weeks really.

nobody in the Rangers org agrees with this lol, give it up already

You realize he played on the third line last night, right? He had a solid game.
yeah, I'm responding to the responses of why Hunt is so disliked here.

Chytil was lowkey outstanding in this game. Credit where credit is due.
I keep saying it but I really wouldn’t trade him yet. He’s been improving and probably understands how hard you have to work each shift. One of those young players. Gallant has Goodrow staples to his wing now, which we have seen his energy and infectious hard work rub off on some other young guys, especially Laf. Chytil just needs consistent mins with some skill. Id die to have Copp on that RW or C.

Yes, that is called development. Not every kid comes into the best league in the world and lights things up.
If you take LAF, he gets way more scrutiny based on his draft position. I don't think he has the skill to be a dominant player, but he can certainly develop into solid first liner who can lead.
I really think this team needs a little draft luck to find that second/third rounder who comes in and becomes a start player. Like a Sebastian Aho. Maybe its Othmann?
