so this is a really good team that can compete with anyone all over the ice with one minor issue. they are absolutely horrible at finishing chances. just can not put the puck in the net and they are so creative at finding ways not to. open nets on a scramble in front off posts, cross crease tap ins grenaded, refusal to shoot in great spots, cant beat a goalie clean...no one can put a puck in the net with any consistency

Yeah don't believe people who say we played really well. I just saw Shesty making huge save after huge save. We had decent stretches, but TB was the better team tonight

we outshot them by 6.We went toe to toe with them and lost in a shootout.Game was evenly played

Look I liked the signing when it happened and i still do but we're trying to put a square peg in a round hole with Trochek on that pp. His abilities are inline with what Kreider already adds. Maybe they are waiting for Kravtsov to get comfortable in the league first but he would be an obvious upgrade to that unit.

It's typical GG thinking he's a savant by oversimplifying everything. "Hey, we let Strome go and signed Trocheck so let's let Trocheck do everything Strome used to do. Brilliant!" Trocheck on PP1 makes no sense and I think long term Chytil with Panarin is probably better too.

Only player better in the shootout than Krav on our team is maybe Panarin. And still their pro hockey stats, Krav absolutely shits on him.

He was 0 for 1 in shootout tonight. KHL is semi pro just like the WNBA.

Trocheck takes way too long to get his shot off when they use him. He takes too long to make passes too. He's always double clutching for second before passing or shooting. That unit was at their best last year when they moved the puck fast and decisively. Trocheck is a much better player than Strome overall but Strome was a better fit in that bumper slot for sure.

I know Gallant doesn't want to change the unit but isn't it worth a shot? I understand the other 4 but why has Trocheck been given untouchable status on that unit? He's not terrible there but I don't think he's been good enough (and the unit hasn't been good enough this year) where it's unthinkable to make a change.

Yeah, the complete inability to finish chances is baffling. Sure, tonight was Vasilevskiy and he was great, but it seems to happen every game no matter who the other goalie is.

Made all the more frustrating tonight by the fact that Tampa's goal was a bullshit fanned shot that went directly to Igor but took an unlucky bounce.

Just like the shoot-out (mostly) muffins, Rangers have not been shooting *intentionally* high lately. Vas found/saved nearly all his shots in the pads or glove. Except Zibs goal (I think). Harrumph.

Seems somehow the 2022-23 Rangers never get in a position to aim/fire.

Nobody is happy but it's not the end of the world either. They got a point against a good team that is hard to beat at home. Every point matters. They probably should have gotten 2 but sometimes we really need context. They played a good game and so did Tampa.
