Not to put on a tinfoil hat, but this isn't the first time I've noticed something similar. I think data in Tampa is a bit friendly towards home scoring chances.

A bit of arena bias is not out of the ordinary. If you bring up Hank's career numbers on EH and turn off venue adjustment, his GSAx goes up by 9 goals (which isn't nothing for a normal goalie -- it's nothing for Hank) because MSG notoriously counts shots as slightly closer to the net then they are.
Home scoring is always a thing in sports, its entirely believeable, no tinfoil needed

Was happy with the overall effort in this one. Played hard enough to win.

However, team is still losing the netfront at both ends. Can’t beat the good teams without the greasy goals. Especially if we continue to give up far better chances then we generate. It’s an ongoing issue. That said, good effort. Not disappointed in that regard.

Mika didn't seem to be bothered by Fox's pass in OT. In fact, he took accountability for missing a wide open net. Hmm, our best goal scorer with a wide open net. Right play or wrong play?

Keep doing your thing Foxy.

Probably the saddest thing is that there wasn't a glaring weakness without Laf in the lineup.
Yes, you could easily scratch Blais (or Brod) for him, and demote one of Vesey or Goodrow, but he really is our 9th best forward at best.

Out of all the bullshit tonight, I think the most frustrated play was the 2 v 1 in OT with Fox (and Zibs I think). The D-man is playing the middle and Fox skates in so close to Vasi that he's breathing on him, but decides to pass for such a bad angle shot. I 100% thought that Fox was going to shoot it. I love Fox, but sometimes I wish he had some Makar in him man. We have too many passers on this team and when the score is close, for us, with out luck, fancy isn't the way to go.
The rangers problem is they pass and shoot but they don't fight for rebounds. Would be awesome if gallant sat the team down and showed them some video of Patric Hornqvist. The rangers get a lot of shots and some go in but so many goals these days are on rebounds and tips. The rangers need to get in on that trend.

Stop overpassing but also all we care about is points so when we do score, make sure there is a primary and secondary assist awarded so that 3 players can get the credit instead of one.

#pointsschmoints

It's so mind-blowing that they took Kakko's assist away and made it unassisted. They are always extremely so assist happy in this league where a defenseman can put the puck into his own net and they would still give out 2 assists.

Hopefully the NHL changes that. Give the f***ing kid his damn points.

Well it was clearly an unassisted goal so I am not sure why they would change it. This is the exact same Laf argument all over again. Who cares if they get a point on their record? Kakko made a good play behind the net there. We can all see it. I don’t need to read the box score to know if he played a good game or not based on if he was credited with an assist.

To be fair, on many goalies that's an easy tuck in. It was a nice move and a better response by the goalie. It happens.

Same. They played great but just not enough finish. Tampa's goalie was big today. Both goalies played great.
Regarding Fils attempt,it isn't, he was way too close to him when he started his move and stevie wonder could have saw it coming. Fil is playing well but he is a head scratcher to put in a shootout

Nah. Plenty of goalies would have bit on the forehand and left some room around the right pad.

I noticed we only scored one goal and we played Brodzinski too much....so maybe.
That’s fair but at the same time I’ve heard his name called just as much in games he’s been dressed which was more my point

We can debate all day about usage etc but he’s gotta find a way to force their hand through his play in the time he does get and I keep waiting for that to happen and I’ll continue to hope it does

In this place? No we need to see the points or everyone and their mother's will continue to call him a bust.

I thought the Rangers showed a lot of good aspects to their game. The defending through the neutral zone was much tighter, defending overall was good, the forwards generated a lot of really solid chances and at various stretches the Rangers really dominated the play. I thought Miller and Trouba really competed well. I thought Schneider was fantastic.

I think Laf comes back in and the perma scratching of Sammy Blais goes back into effect. Somehow in a game labeled as “physical” Sammy still managed to all but be invisible except for missing a wide open net which would have given him one more NHL goal this season than every poster. That trade is historically bad on every level.

I was there 5 rows behind the bench
It could’ve easily been an 8-1 Tampa win
Easily
Sorry buddy but you are showing your negative outlook or inability to watch a hockey game. There was one stretch where Tampa did not have a shot for something like 8 minutes. The Rangers controlled the play for stretches during the game and really played a solid game. Both goalies played unreal. So if you want to kill the Rangers you are both statistically wrong and the eye ball test also negates your point. I would just as easily say the Rangers could have won that game 8-1 as much as Tampa did given they had 3 breakaways, multiple missed wide open sides or nets( Blais sticks out as one) and basically matched Tampa is shots.

I get it frustrating to spend money to watch the team lose but you got to see an incredible NHL game with 2 all world goalies playing!
