They keep using the down three guys bs. Ok, and there was no Shesterkin, no Buchnevich, and a sick Kreider who barely was able to move due to the flu. I swear, they’re the biggest cry babies in the league. We can thank butch for that.

the incessant selfish penalties. No forward in the league has taken more literally. He easily cost us a point tonight. He plays zero defense. And there is zero accountability when it comes to him.

Saying he plays zero defense isn't accurate at all, it's a false narrative that's being echoed by people who either don't know what they are talking about or just wanna hate on him. Penalties are one thing but his penalties aren't of the selfish variety, its him battling to get a puck back, I'm ok with it and apparently so is the coach.

I'd really like them to give Kravtsov a shot while Buch is out, with our depth questionable we need to know if he can play if we need him in playoffs(if we make it). Its no good to throw him to the wolves in a playoff series.

You know how we have a good laugh at Islanders fans (like we've been doing for the last quarter century) about how playing us is their Stanley Cup...well, this year it's really accurate. They've got a shit prospect pool and are giving picks away left and right. They're all in with the motley crew that's got no high end skill on either end with maybe the exception of Barzal. FFS, they're pining for Cal f*cking Clutterbuck to come back and save them.

And they couldn't beat the youngest team in the league which is in a rebuilding year yet their fans think they can knock out the Bruins, Lightning, Caps of the world. Dumb and delusional especially with the conspiracy theories about the refs and the league.
They’re barely .500, if that, since they point streak (16-3-1 run). Their thread is so happy that they grabbed a point with three of their guys out. You’re crying for Cal frieken Cluster*uck to come back. Lol. No prospect pool aside from Dobson and maybe Wahlstrom, although I’m not too high on the latter. Giving away picks left and right. They beat SJ off a back to back and DET. Not even worried about them. We take care of our business. They’re as delusional as you can get.

I can guaranty that Quinn isn't okay with that. No coach likes lazy penalties in the offensive zone. When the feet stop moving and you reach out with the stick, bad things are going to happen.

Hot take...I felt like Brendan smith played better tonight than skjei has at just about any point this season.

Smith got a star from me for walking into a top pair and holding his own. As you said couldn't expect Skjei would do any better.

My other two stars went to Lindgren and Georgi.

HM to the 4th line

It always excuses with that team. Always somebody elses fault.

I guess I would be sour too if my team is peaking and is still not that great.

Their offense is Barzal and a bunch of okay players. Thats on Lou. But hey, they traded for and signed Pageau to throw on the pile of 3Cs that they already have (Brassard, Nelson, Cizikas), and traded for an over the hill defenseman because Lou was feeling nostalgic.

But ya know, its the refs

Trading Skjei to essentially keep Kreider and extend DeAngelo and get a 1st in the process makes me funny in such a good way. If that pick ends up being a lottery pick, I may have to consult a doctor.

Giddiness specialist? We all would need one.

Isn't that how Kreider got started?

Feels nice to shut the animals up at the zoo.

I couldn't tell if I was watching an MLS game or not. The constant drumming? Chanting the name of a 3rd liner you just traded 3 picks for? Wanna be my girl? Yes Yes Yes?

Funny how the NHL banned noisemakers years ago but your allowed to bang on a drum all night or Washington, Pitt and Carolina with their stupid horn.
I like the whole soccer vibe. I thought the crowd added to the atmosphere. :dunno:

(Made it that much sweeter when they won. :D)

yes. but he has just come from winning a national title, so he pretty much went from one intense game to the next.

not that it's an excuse, just he kinda got to experience that sort of play, literally days before he played for us

Refs, the league, etc. they stormed out of the gate 16-3-1 and won the November Cup. They’re what their record says it is since. 19-17-6 since. They’ll say it’s because Clutterbuck got hurt lol.

McIlrath wishes he skated fast enough to make hits like Jake does

agreed, though, he's gotta crank some shots. dude's got a cannon
Not sure if I agree on the shots though, he does have a cannon but it's wildly inaccurate and his shot rates overall as below average (whereas someone like Shea Weber has a top-5 shot, including forwards). I'd like him to pick his spots better and not just blast it as often as he does.

The rangers were missing their top goalie. Their top right winger. Their top left defenseman got traded away for future, and their 2nd line left wing had the flu

OF COURSE the Islanders would dominate large swaths of this game.
Well, that, and the Rangers always have to survive an initial onslaught when they play the Islanders in their barn.

This is good!

We want them to take the 3rd spot in the Atlantic.
Absolutely! It is quite clear to me that if we make the playoffs we have to play well enough to jump the jackets and canes. If we do that we will jump one of the panthers or leafs no doubt

I think Georgie was taken off the table once Shesty crashed.

Says who? It just doesn't make any sense because once they agreed on an extension with Kreider - the next necessary move prior to the start of next season is to get rid of Hank's contract. Then it would make zero sense to trade Georgiev now even if Shesterkin didn't get into the accident.

I can tell you this, the Columbus blue jackets, standings-wise, are as good as the Piles, and they’ve lost the entire roster! They don’t whine and cry, but instead they suit up their AHL roster and put their hard hats on. I can respect that. A team that is 19-17-6 after storming out of the gate with minimal talent, an over the hill GM giving away picks like candy for a career year 3C, and blaming their struggles on not having Cizikas and Clutterbuck are in for a rude awakening.
