Fortunately, Shesty was really good in game 1 and game 7. He started strong and finished strong.

He's shown he's capable of giving this team elite playoff goaltending, so now it's about being better in front of him and also allowing him the chance to put together more consistent performances game to game.

It would be one thing if he were bad for all 7 games. But he wasn't.

At the end of the day, he stole game 7 - they had no business winning that one. He was fantastic in their most high-pressure game. The only one you can maybe fault him on was giving up the break away goal and going down too early - but that was a ridiculously good shot as well.
He gave up 2 goals in game 2, how bad could he have been? He had two crap games with no support. Two decent games they won anyway, then 1, 2, & 7

I was going through Twitter today and it looks like Sam might be doing some of the Ranger games on radio. The only conflict Kenny has with TNT is Sunday, May 22. But he also may not be doing the bouncing between the two east series as he's slated to do TB/FLA on TV.
Sam does national radio. I have absolutely no idea where these stations are, but I have heard replays of his broadcasts on Sirius XM over the summer.

I live in southern VA. I could go but the prices are crazy there since they won the cup in '06.
Not compared to NY. My son and I watched the Rangers beat them there a couple years ago. Sat right behind the scorers box, near the Rangers penalty box. Heard some funny shit. Tickets were just over $100 each. Imagine those in the Garden?

Pitt was a bad matchup for us. I never wanted to play them. The way they create opportunities down low and cycle and pressure with their Dmen. We had a really tough time with that. Carolina likes to throw a lot of shots on net but the scoring chances may not be as lethal as Pitt. They also don't have a Crosby and all the pressure is on them. We are playing with house money and we have a shot but Shesty has to be Vezina Shesty.
Only thing that worries me about Carolina is their PK, considering the extent to which we rely on the PP for offense, as well as any vengeance that Tony D might seek to exact.

if they don’t sell tickets to people unless you have a zip code in one of those states then hope they have half empty arena.
The tickets will go up on the secondary market. Carolina makes more money potentially by having a bigger home ice advantage, and advancing a round.

i hate the tda hate...hes actually a very solid guy. was and is very close with a lot of guys on this team. hes a hothead on the ice and had some maturing to do but he more than paid a price for any misdeeds, time for other people to grow up. calling someone a racist because you dont like his politics is far worse than anything he ever said or did; its uninformed, self righteous, and demonstrably false. carolina did their due diligence before signing him, you can be certain that included input from a lot of people we cheer for who thought highly of him. its disturbing watching people just go along with nonsense and assume it to be true. a 2 second logic check of should i believe a twitter rumor or the easily accessible support of former teammates and people that have known him personally. its an awful thing to call someone, any decent person should at least know that its objectively evident

People are calling him a racist because of 2 things, his actions in juniors and the odds that he “got it” from his father who uses racist language.
There’s plenty of nhl players who I don’t agree with their politics, but that doesn’t make them racist.

I've never listened to a radio broadcast in my life but nothing would make me happier than Sam cucking #hockeyguy Donny La Grecs.

Really don’t have any issues with their fans, but the organization itself is really cheap and “Mickey Mouse”. What they did to John Forslund was unconscionable. The new guy is awful and a ridiculous homer. The radio broadcast is a simulcast of the TV broadcast that almost no one can see because the cable system dropped Bally Sports.
Yeah, I never understood what they did to Forslund. You have one of the top 5 PBP guys in the league as your team's local broadcaster and everyone loves him and you get rid of him, why? Budget? What a joke. I'd like Forslund as a replacement for Sam when he hangs his mic up, I think Forslund is great. He's had a ton of great calls in Rangers games in the playoffs too. Game 5 comeback vs the Caps in 2015 stands out to me.

Ugh, no games on MSG this round?

A big positive is that Igor got his game back in game 7, he was excellent. We need that kind of performance every night if we want any chance vs the Canes. His play in games 2-5 won't really cut it, he can't be leaky like that. Hopefully it was just the combination of fatigue after the long game, the Carter hit and then the yips with his first time on the road in the playoffs and now he's past it.

This extra day of rest is going to go a long way toward convincing me we can win this series. Rangers have nothing to lose and significantly more game breaking talent than the Canes. Our top guys seem to be gaining confidence.

I believe beating Pittsburgh, in the fashion we did, proves we are a good team and that we belong in the playoffs. The Pens threw everything at us, and we did not relent. It wasn't at all like they laid down for us. It was a hard-fought playoff series.

That said, the road to the Cup just got that much harder. If we are realistic, the quest for glory, involves beating the Canes, Panthers and then the Avalanche. the three best teams in the world.

And honestly if that did happen, the "Miracle on Ice" would be reduced to an afterthought.

I really don't see a path for us, not this year. Those teams are just too strong with home ice advantage. All three have very good home records. But I will bleed true blue in support of my never say die Rangers and look for another miracle on ice.

Good points.

Another year in this window we may have a weaker team but a better chance at a cup.

People always say how it doesn't matter what other teams do but it does. Just as much as what we do.

Game 2?

That may have been his best game of the series.

Game 4 can't happen. Even game 3 was fluky as shit.
