Mollie saying Blais is out for the year and won’t be returning at any point.

I don’t even know who would come out for Blais at this point, probably better to shut him down. He can be cheap middle six depth for next season and there were definitely games this year where he was greatly missed

Reaves? I mean Motte/Goody/Blais would probably be the best 4th line in the playoffs.

It’s not a matter of talent because I think Blais is underrated, but he hasn’t played in months. Not the best idea to throw him right into a conference final game

How much are they? I live near Raleigh but unfortunately out of town for Game 1 and 2.

Maybe when it comes back for Game 5.

I have an NC zip (I live in a Raleigh suburb) and I'll buy tickets for a New Yorker looking to grab tickets in exchange for them getting me one. Game 5 preferable. Game 2 a no-go.
I live in southern VA. I could go but the prices are crazy there since they won the cup in '06.

I've mentioned this before, IMO, Carolina is all smoke and mirrors.

They absolutely do not have the top end talent that some other teams in these playoffs have, even our Rangers.

What Carolina does better than most is buying into a system and identity. Rod has them conditioned and willing to push their forecheck.

They have one guy: Aho. Zibanejad is better.

Svechnikov and Teravainen aren't better than any of the Penguins we just faced. Panarin and Kreider are better.

Trocheck? He had a wildly overachieving breakout season of which he has never even been able to get close to again.

Our defense core is better. Fox is better than DeAngelo. Skjei and Smith? We couldn't wait to dump them.

Our goaltender is better. Raanta? He was a backup here.

IMO the Penguins core we just faced is better and deeper.

I'm having a hard time recalling a more overachieving team than this Carolina team. The Montreal Canadiens last year.

This will be a matchup of coaching. If Gallant has our guys pushing the pace and forcing Carolina to defend, then they can't do what makes them good which is forecheck. Stand them up at the blue lines. Hound the puck. Take their game right to them.

I hope you are right! :)

And I get what you mean. With that said, I like how they are built. Aho is my favorite type of center, think someone like him really makes players around him better as opposed to someone like Mark Schleife/Jake Eichel. Trochek is in the same mold. They took a big big step when they got him. He was their Copp x2.

But these guys are far from complete perfect players, Teravainen, Svechnikov, Jordan Staal and co.

When I looked they were only around 115 for upper deck. 300ish for lower bowl.

The one thing that is very noticeable in any Canes, Rangers game, is that there is no time or space. The Canes smother us with their speed and aggressiveness. They are the poster child of in your face hockey. And if we can't match that, it is ballgame over. Sometimes this game is as simple as that.

The Canes are so good at taking away time and space, that even when shorthanded, they don't allow you to set up the powerplay. They led the league in PK% for just that reason.

This is simply what this series boils down to. Can we match the Canes in your face intensity. We are going to have to play a smart north/south game, getting pucks deep, and being aggressive on the forecheck. Playing as a five man unit all over the ice, in support of one another. This is no easy task for a team that likes to be creative with east/west passes. Must play a simple game, using our speed and being tenacious.

I was looking to get tickets in Carolina for game 2 but apparently you cant buy tickets through ticket master for a Carolina home game unless you are from Carolina or Virginia

Tampa did that as well a few years back. I think it’s utter BS. What if you are a Carolina fan living in NY who wants to travel to Carolina for a game.

Last time I checked, I mean 95.00 vs 400.00 to just get in. Heck it’s cheaper to fly and go to a game down there than to a game at MSG. Lol.

You really underestimate the sum of their parts. Yes, they have no superstars, or top goalie. But Rod has shown the NHL how a team game is played in order to have success. And they are the real deal. This team led the league in PK%, GAA, and tied for the best road record. They also headed into the playoffs winning six straight. They are as far away as you can be from smoke and mirrors.

Their relentless tenacity is tough to match. This has always been a team game and you are clearly overlooking that.

The Rangers have their hands full in facing their toughest opponent to date. Everyone will need to step up their game, including Shesty. We will need a full 60 minute onslaught, if we are to overcome them. We have to beat them at their own game. There is no other way to success.

Not that there would be many fans, but parts of Georgia are within their local broadcast region.

The only organizations that do this are insecure small markets that usually try to start **** with other teams with immature tweets.

We dominated the Canes for so many years that I never learned to hate them. Losing to the Pens would have offended me. Losing to the Rent-a-Center Rangers won’t sting as much. I just hope We shut TDA down.

I actually really like the Canes fanbase and I think we've had a friendly rivalry with them. Hope we can continue it. Dislike new enemies.

That ticket thing is pretty bad, though . . .
Really don’t have any issues with their fans, but the organization itself is really cheap and “Mickey Mouse”. What they did to John Forslund was unconscionable. The new guy is awful and a ridiculous homer. The radio broadcast is a simulcast of the TV broadcast that almost no one can see because the cable system dropped Bally Sports.

Would it kill us to fly known clutch playoff performer Vitali Kravstov here? You can't tell me the lineup doesn't look better with him in it. Let's do something crazy and try to go get a cup.

I personally have nothing against him and would have rather he kept his head on straight and stayed here, but if there was ever an opportunity to take advantage of a hot head who has trouble controlling his emotions...

I was going through Twitter today and it looks like Sam might be doing some of the Ranger games on radio. The only conflict Kenny has with TNT is Sunday, May 22. But he also may not be doing the bouncing between the two east series as he's slated to do TB/FLA on TV.
