I looked and they weren't crazy expensive, especially compared to MSG.

How much are they? I live near Raleigh but unfortunately out of town for Game 1 and 2.

Maybe when it comes back for Game 5.

Apparently you need a NC, SC, or Southern Virginia billing zip code to buy tickets to the Canes' home games. Effort to stop scalpers or effort to stop Rangers fan invasion?

I have an NC zip (I live in a Raleigh suburb) and I'll buy tickets for a New Yorker looking to grab tickets in exchange for them getting me one. Game 5 preferable. Game 2 a no-go.

I went to a ton of games while I was stationed in Lejeune , IMHO its the red every game I went to the Rangers contingent of fans was very heavy like 50-50 split

Carolina PK loves to double-team the initial entry or first pass back to the point. Most PPs want to get the puck back to the point quickly. Whether we're carrying it in or throwing it in, the puck needs to get deep. Accept that there will be an initial scrum, some seconds might come off the clock, and sacrificing the body will be needed to win that initial puck battle. Win the puck and get it back to the point, and the PKers might peel off and form their box, which ironically enables some room to set up. On the entry, if the puck only reaches the half wall, our guy is going to get double-teamed by the Canes' two pincer-like PKers up top.
It'd be nice to add another style.... or just use PP2.. Adjustments aren't our strong suit.

Their PK is a great counter to PP1's style. I don't know the #'s off the top of my head but I'm confident they were terrible against Carolina.

What is wrong with this guy?

I like Biz but that’s an awful take. Pens lost the series because they couldn’t close it out up 3-1 with leads in Games 5, 6 and 7. And that’s before you even get into all the coin flips that went the Pens way.

It used to be that if you're a national broadcaster, you try to stay impartial and above the fray. Even local broadcasters aren't homers to this degree that Bis is showing. Vally will highlight positive stuff supporting the Rangers but never go as far as making a statement like that about the opposing team. Even the other night, Gretz was asked about personnel changes on the Leafs, and he declined to answer because he's on the team's advisory board or what not.

I don't think PP2 is polished enough to work Car's PK.

It's not but they play a simple meat and potato game, or at least they are more capable IMO. Dump it in. Get it up to Trouba or Vatrano and hope for a deflection/screen/clean up

2/12, both came in the first matchup of the season.

3/13 if you want to count the 6 on 5 goal that we scored against them in the first matchup at the garden but either way, below season average.

I'll take 20% on the PP against them though.

Considering the team’s history with deangelo and how well the bruins got under the skin of his. I think there’s a solid chance that things are going to get dirty. And that’s great considering our PP against their PK.

Just watched them. One was a setup off of a faceoff for Zibs onetimer and the other was Kreider cleanup. The Kreider goal did not look like typical Carolina PK

IMO it'd have to be much better than 2 for 12. We need to have stellar special teams along with timely goals. We will probably get rammed 5v5 again, Shesty hopefully mitigates it somewhat

On the PP, get the puck down low and work their defenders.

Outside of Slavin, Pesce and Cole, there are a few holes in Skjei, Smith and TDA. Even Cole has his brain-fart moments

They can be exploited

Quick puck movement. The ability to retrieve dump-ins and movement in front

I heard on the radio that if Dallas won we would have started tomorrow instead of wednesday? Does this make sense?

I believe beating Pittsburgh, in the fashion we did, proves we are a good team and that we belong in the playoffs. The Pens threw everything at us, and we did not relent. It wasn't at all like they laid down for us. It was a hard-fought playoff series.

That said, the road to the Cup just got that much harder. If we are realistic, the quest for glory, involves beating the Canes, Panthers and then the Avalanche. the three best teams in the world.

And honestly if that did happen, the "Miracle on Ice" would be reduced to an afterthought.

I really don't see a path for us, not this year. Those teams are just too strong with home ice advantage. All three have very good home records. But I will bleed true blue in support of my never say die Rangers and look for another miracle on ice.

Canes fans seem pretty certain that Andersen will not be back this series (and is probably done for the season). He is not skating yet. He has not taken any shots yet. So it’ll be Raanta in net until further notice.
