If you need to ask you are hopeless.

Anyone knows its an upgrade.

Noted that you highlighted only part of the statement I made.

Want to try to answer the whole statement, this time?

If the Rangers miss the playoffs with Gallant, especially with a better team than Quinn had, explain how that would be an improvement over Quinn missing the playoffs.

I mean with facts other than you just can feel it in your bones or because it just has to be that way.

If they miss the playoffs I think that'll signal the first 'uh oh' of the rebuild.

That being said, I don't see a scenario where we miss the playoffs.

So pumped to see this team grow more under Gallant. He has shown he is an NHL playoffs caliber coach.

I feel like people don't like the lines changing when the lines change and the players play poorly and they do want the lines changed when lines look bad after being together a while. There's no set philosophy by fans.
There's a difference between

A line never working/forced.
A line working but having a bad period/game.

I'd argue that in our case, we have witnessed seven years of impatient line juggling. They just weren't kept together.

KZB is the only line that had any chemistry from the get go. It took a year until the coach (realized) this and kept them together.

I was happy, when I read that Gallant doesn't like to change lines.

People post the lines they want to see all the time, no matter what's actually occurring on the ice.

When will the assistants be announced? Maybe on Tuesday? Gotta think Mike Kelly will be one and there's the Girardi speculation.

it ain't up to me, but I'd put G in Hartford and promote Gord Murphy

btw Murphy worked w GG both
during 2002-04 w CBJ as co-ACs and
during 2005-06, part of '06-07, w CBJ as AC under GG as HC
Gord Murphy at eliteprospects.com
Gerard Gallant at eliteprospects.com

G working with Schneider, Robertson, Skinner et al could be of lasting benefit

Calm down.

Your question is based on hypothetical results for next season.

Even if we take not missing the playoffs to be the case Gallant is a better coach than David Quinn. The facts support this.

The fact that Gallant has made the playoffs before, been to the finals, won a Jack Adams and was then head coach when young players under him developed into stars would be some specific examples.

When David Quinn accomplishes these feats then he can be viewed as an equal coach to Gallant.

These are the facts and not just because or a feeling in my bones.

Your support of David Quinn seems to be a feeling in your bones that isnt shared by Drury, CBJ or Seattle.

Other than it being sentimental, there’s really no reason we should be hiring Girardi as the coach to run the defense. He only has like 30 games of experience, and it’s not like BUF’s defense had any tangible improvement after he was promoted.

I’d rather overpay Dean Chynoweth to manage our defense/PK if Dundon is going to be cheap with his wallet.

If doesn’t matter which coach or manager is running your team; their buddies are always along for the ride.

Wins and losses really aren't what's important, it's the friends we made along the way :laugh:

I guess we'll find out more Tuesday, but I'd be really, really surprised if Mike Kelly and another AC are not announced. He and Gallant didn't overlap with the Islanders, and there's still the Scott Gordon connection. It'll be interesting to see what they do either way.

I'm going to throw a name out there ...from Gallant's hometown and well known to one another , Grant Sonier . I think he is a part time scout and has had past NHL related work experience . Like I said...possible long shot .

The only direct connections I can think of with Gallant and the Rangers are
1) Joey Kocur;
2) Joe Paterson;
3) Jaromir Jagr;
4) Ron Duguay;
5) Rick Nash;
6) Colin Campbell
7) Brad Park

I'm sure there are more, but I'm glad Drury brought in the best guy available

I dunno....I have a bad feeling about Boyce working under his wife's father. I just don't see it happening . LOL...but stranger things have happened . Now...if he were hired as an assistant for the farm club....that might be a spot to get his feet wet at the pro level....the NHL is a long ways from the Junior level and nothing against Boyce as I know he is a good kid and hard worker .

Haven’t looked back but does a gallant have his own video coach hence the firing of ours?

Or maybe this is where Boyce or Girardi come in?
