Rangers been doing a lot of firsts lately...it may not be a first but we haven't had a 2-game lead in a series in what feels like forever. Don't lay down for Game 2.

It would be huge to come back to NYC with a 2-0 lead. But I'm happy that at the very least it will be tied.

The Rangers were made out to be an overpaid scrub squad reading the main board over the last few days.
Habs got over-inflated heads.
Fans and players.

This. They looked past the Rangers because they beat the Bruins. Good for them, but we just made you look pathetic. Hopefully the push back isn't as strong as PIT's and we can take this back to NY up 2-0.

Really is amazing how the Rangers turning a blind eye to all the BS and just playing whistle to whistle has made their opponents lose their minds.

The playoffs have really changed, it's fascinating.

Who got the hat ?

Poor Marty, tough days losing his mom, and the funeral tomorrow. Good thing the entire team will attend and support him.

I wouldn't really call winning in 7 as "beating up on" anybody.

I could see how you'd get arrogant if it was a sweep, but by definition, a series that goes to 7 is about as close as it gets.

In many ways, we "out-Habbed" the Habs. We did to them today what they did to the Bruins. Used our speed to win puck battles and turned the other cheek and let them take the dumb penalties. Good job by Dorsett (and Kreider) to not engage Prust.

I don't think they were prepared for our quickness and smarts, so we will definitely have to come back strong in Game 2. :handclap:

actually they are working on a 5 game win streak; why is it so hard to understand that the NYR have a damn good team??

Having paid attention to the numbers around this playoffs, you should probably realize that he meant win 2 straight to open a series (or 2 straight when starting from tied, if you'd rather).

They're still 0 for their last 14 in attempts to take a 2 game lead in a series.

Well if anything the talk on their board is about them running Hank and bashing Kreiders head in :shakehead

And yes, i was over there to stir **** up

I have a hard time thinking of a team that is less likely to bash Kreider's head in. He is in absolute beast mode right now. Completely aware of his advantages out there and making the most of them.

Plus, you know, 6'3", 230 pounds...nobody is going to be bashing anything on him.

They are a very good team.

They still need to go up 2 games in a series before I can believe it.

The thing that really makes me think this team can do damage is just the sheer number of difference makers they've had so far. On any given night, it can be Hank, Richards, McD, Staal, MSL, Kreider, anyone on the ZuBraPoo line, hell, even Hagelin and Moore and Boyle have done some heavy lifting at some big moments. They've got a lot of weapons, especially when they're all riding a wave of success like they are right now.

I think that this is the key, for sure. To go deep in the playoffs you need more than your top lines. Every one has to contribute. When one line dont produce, another line steps up. I think AVs coaching is very smart, he plays the lines fairly evenly, and gets rewarded with players that don´t run out of gas.

Like MSL said at the start of the playoffs; There is gonna be a different hero in every game.

Hank can't play in Montreal?

Hope Brassard is okay. This team continues to surprise me in the best way possible.

Think game 2 will tell us a lot about this series. I'd love to see the Rangers come out with a sense of urgency and come up 2-0.

Only one game, but I was so happy to see Nash finally hit the net.

Any update on Brassard? We really need him out there

The Canadians fans were pretty cool on the main board today. Just one guy complaining about the two early hooking and one psychopath that was INSISTING that Krieder injured Price intentionally. Then all the Penguins and Flyers fans came by to spread their sour grapes and agree agree with the guy. A few Boston fans that were being smug about their team being better than the rangers by saying "of if the lowly rangers can win this big, then why couldn't we?" Just passive aggressive B.S. But the Canadian fans on the board are pretty knowledgeable which makes we wonder what kind of nerve toxin they are introduced to when they enter the Bell Center. :)

I went over there as well and I disagree. A couple of them were a bit upset but got shot down by several others. Almost everyone in that PGT seemed very levelheaded IMO. Knowledgable fanbase.

If that happened to Hank these boards would go into complete meltdown mode and insults would fly all over the place after a 7-2 loss like that.
