Good to see the Devils added two after I stopped watching.

I mentioned this in another thread ages ago, but at one point late last year I was looking for new/used skates. Found a pair on sideline swap, and ended up not buying them because they were Nemeth's old skates. That guy is literally useless. He hurts to watch.

I know Panarin puts up points, but his dance-y bullshit us at risk SO often. This ain't the KHL, bud. People will hit you in this league.

Chalking a bit of this up to having four new guys in the line up, but the lack of fight tonight really shocked me.

BAD game by Gallant, and I absolutely love the guy. He waited FAR too long to yank Shesty, waited too long to try different line combos, never utilized a time out, and benched Laffy for what exactly?

All in all, they looked like they were all hung over.
Seems to me like we need some discipline on the bench and more tacticians back there behind the bench.

Burn the tape. Sucks our two big wins over the weekend were sandwiches between non-playoff teams and they were the Islanders and Devils to boot. So obviously we’re all pissed. From the second period puck drop on they were terrible, including Igor who looked off all night.

Get some rest tomorrow, solid practice Thursday, forget about it and move on to a big game vs Pittsburgh on Friday.

Not true at all, we were dominant that second period until the PP specialist turned it over.

ran into a devil and seemed to have bumped skulls. He looked a little whiplashed by the visor or something. might be a day to day week to week type deal when all is said and done.

This WAS a trap game but they played about 30 minutes of excellent hockey and then after that one goal they looked shell shocked. They looked completely flustered rather than disinterested.
I don’t know about flustered, perhaps mentally tired after those 2 games on the weekend. We have seen this before with other good teams. Took their foot off the gas and minds off the game.

Filthily coached game. I want to skull Gallant right now. If any of you think Lafrenière is ever seeing the top line again this year you’re in for a rude awakening Friday night.
He's by far one of the worst coaches in the league. Nothing will change with him behind the bench.

Unfortunately that may be the performance that rules out a Hart trophy.

Vezina still very much in the lead, though. Down to .935.6 by my math.

If they put Laf in the bottom 6, Gallant should be fired.

The rangers literally played two games tonight

For a stretch of 30 minutes it was some of the best hockey they have played all year

For the other 30 minutes it was the worst hockey I’ve seen in years

Really? Gallant sucks at adjustments. Wouldn't be surprised if the only change to the lineup is putting in McKegg for hunt.

This was easily the worst game of Igor's career. Hank used to have the meltdowns out of nowhere early in his career. But Igor looked above that, especially this season.
No goalie who has ever played is above having a bad game, right from Hasek on down. The great ones are able to bounce back and get back to their level, like Hank always did and like I'm sure Igor will. I'd much rather him have a slump now than in 6 weeks when the playoffs are about to start.

Interestingly enough, with all the talk about Igor's historic season - in Lundqvist's Vezina season in 2012 he also went into March with a .940+ sv% on the season like Igor did. People forget that because he then went on to have a slump with a bunch of bad games and then had an uneven end to his season and dropped down to .930% which is where he finished, still best in the league but not by the huge margin he was leading by. Seeing some parallels here.

Much like Hank he’s getting bombed night after night, eventually it will catch up with even the best. Nothing you can do, can’t cover up for this squad every night.

This pretty much sums it up. Especially against a fast team that is in full blitz mode and everyone from the outside the bluepaint is in full deer in headlights mode. The puck is going in every direction opposite of where you're expecting and trying to track it.
