Adam Fox has 64 points in 61 games including 2 points last night. I think whatever he is selling is still working fairly well. And if it doesn't, I'll happily take it. I would love to disappoint to the tune of a PPG in the NHL.

It's a pretty simple issue. The Rangers aren't as good as the elite teams.
yeah... that's the point.

They are greatly underachieving at 5v5.... and it's not a talent issue as the main culprit. ( see Montreal ).

To add to the satire, there's a chance Gallant is a finalist for best coach.
I think fans just believe coaches that are nhl worthy dont make mistakes and thats a misconception. A lot of them have faults. For example, sullivan is lauded as one of the best coaches in the nhl right now, but when its come to the playoff picture, they havent done much since winning 2 cups in his first two years. The most important thing is players play for the coach and our team loves gallant. I promise you, if he got fired, we'd be like the panthers, who years after and even now, have been heard asking about why they had to let gallant go.

I mean Panarin is 3 points away from being top 10 in scoring, while missing a few games this year and he's been destroyed for a weeks on here.

That's fair. But Panarin has been fairly pedestrian in many games while having a few games where he put up huge numbers, mostly on the powerplay, and has turned the puck over far more trying low percentage plays he normally wouldn't. Fox has been consistent 1 to 2 points every night.

I agree with your last line. The fundamental flaw in the team's mindset. High pct plays lead to cute stuff opportunities after the opponent's structure has weakened. Also, Having to respect high pct plays provides the cover to do the cute stuff. It's not different than a pitcher in baseball. You can have a 101-mph heater but if there's nothing else in your arsenal, you're still going to be a 6-10 pitcher with a 4.68 ERA.
101? That will play! 96 mph would have been a better figure. 6-10 also suggests a full season of starts. 4.68 era shows ability, let’s say 96 mph and an era above 5 for emphasis.

I’m excited to not watch any baseball until late May.

I’m so tired of seeing the standings the way they are presented by division leader. I can’t be the only one. Can someone please explain the home ice chase?

I don't watch much baseball and attempted a baseball analogy. Forgive me. Im guilty.

I don't think Fox has been a more consistent point producer as Panarin has quite a few more points and I'm willing to be the same % of his goals come on the PP. Now he's a defenseman so it's different but he's also one of the best offensive defensemen in the league. I think he's regressed in his own zone.

I believe that the 2 and 3 seeds of a division play each other, with the 2 seed having home ice advantage. Each division winner plays a wild card opponent, with the division winner having home ice advantage, of course. The division winner with the better record (best conference record) plays WC2 and the other division winner plays WC1. The 4th-place finisher from either division with the better record is WC1.

Hughes's second, if I recall.
It was the 5th goal, Sharangovich.

Vatrano tried to skate through the middle (instead of dumping it), loses the puck (and falls on his ass), which leads to about a minute of o-zone time for New Jersey. Once they finally get it out, the Panarin line gets the puck barely into the Devils zone and change. D-men can't change.

It's Chytil-Copp-Hunt turn to get hemmed. This shift is a prime example of Chytil's complete lack of hockey IQ. He just skates around like a headless chicken the whole shift. Hunt works, but doesn't get anything done (what else is new ?). Copp does this half-assed chip towards the blue line, like "lol, not my problem, you guys do it". Braun's reaction to the goal is pretty priceless, "wtf, can I get a change bros ?".

This is the type of shit that should make the coaches mad. This should lead to benchings and scratches, but no, let's bench the guy who was playing well.
